Having Alec around made her heart beat a bit faster, made the corners of her mouth twist up without any effort. He was a part of her life now, as surely as having legs and walking on the ground were. He made her happy, as happy as anything else ever had - and the best part was that she had the same effect on him.
She loved riding on his bike. She'd always pitied creatures that were stuck on the ground, but she liked knowing that they'd found their own ways to fly - motorcycles, roller coasters, airplanes. It made her giggle, knowing that Alec had liked flying without even knowing her. Her palms were a bit sweaty in nervous anticipation and excitement. They were en route to start their life together.
When he poked her in the ribs, she turned around, grinning. Her hair was half dry, and she was rocking faintly on her heels. The noise from the key machine was loud and high-pitched, and she buried her head in Alec's chest to get away from it. "Our apartment. I can't wait to get you some things for it."
