Who. Sophie Cuckoo and Rose Frost
What. Girl time. Hair dyeing and movies!
When. Friday night.
Where. Chez Frost

Rose wasn't the kind of girl to frequent slumber parties. She was much too cool for such a thing, really, and thought herself above the giggling idiots who gossiped about boys in school. Of course, once Sophie had voiced interest in dyeing her hair, Rose was all too excited to try things out. Part of it had to do with the fact that it meant Sophie was asserting her independence from those bitches, otherwise known as the Stepford Cuckoos. Part of it also had to do with the fact that doing silly girl things was fun.

They'd rented The Producers because Rose's boooooyfriend was going to be starring an adaptation of it. And Rose had pulled Sophie out of the house quickly to procure some dye. They'd returned home with a few different shades because Rose wanted Sophie to have some choice. It only felt right.

Sophie was still nervous, though, Rose could smell it. So she did her best to put her at ease. "You're going to look amazing," Rose said with a smile and a voice full of cool confidence. "I've done this plenty of times before."

Sophie smiled, nodding. She was still a little nervous, and had been giggling a lot. But she trusted Rose. "I know," she said, pushing her blonde hair out of her eyes. She grinned.

And it was just hair, right? She could always go back to normal. Rose would help her and totally fix everything if Sophie wasn't completely sure she liked it. Nothing to worry about, she told herself.

"This is gonna be fun," she said, grinning. She was looking forward to having a fun girly night. She'd never really had one before. The Cuckoos didn't really 'girl talk' or anything. This was going to be so much more fun.

They were in Rose's room, supplies strewn about. There was junk food on her dresser. Beside that were towels and dye. Rose was looking forward to girl talk. With Rachel no longer around, there hadn't been many fun girly nights lately. And that was a shame.

"So," Rose said. She had the air of a professional about her. "Do you want to start with your hair? That's probably the best way. You'll need to keep the dye in for a little while. We can start the movie while you let it sit and finish after you've washed it out."

There was a pause, "Do you know what color you want to try?"

"Okay, yeah." Part of her wanted to put off the dye, but that would only give her more time to talk herself out of it. She was nervous, but she was also really excited. "Yeah, let's get started."

"Um." She looked at the different boxes. "I don't know.. What do you think would be cute?" The red was cute, but she didn't want to go from being a Cuckoo to being Rose's new twin. They looked enough alike, as sisters, she didn't need to single white female her. "Maybe this one?" she said as she picked up a box of chestnut-brown.

"You don't think it would look drab, do you? Have you had brown hair?"

Rose looked at the box quickly and then at Sophie's head. "This will probably come out a little lighter than the color on the box. They usually do." There was a pause where Rose smiled a small smile. "My hair's naturally brown. And I don't think there's a color I haven't tried." She lowered her voice. "Even weird unnatural colors. I tried this ghastly red thing once that came out near pink..." she made a face, "I was much younger. And we're not to speak of it again."
