Who: Seth and Tachikoma
Where: Tach's expansive grounds.
When: This evening.
What: Kidnapping! Yep, Seth has finally fully lost it.

Seth had been ironing out the details of this for weeks. He'd cleaned up his special place, the one in the out of the way part of town, and made it fit. He had supplies. He'd cleared his tracks. Now everything was prepared, everything in its right place.

In the weeks he'd spent alone, separate from everyone and everything, he'd done some thinking. Maybe that was the wrong way to put it--maybe the isolation had sent him a step backwards. But nothing had been quite right in his head since he'd seen Tach...well.

Part of the fun of this was watching routines, marking out when the person ate, when they slept, when they would be alone. He'd learned this about two or three in, when impulse slaughter had gotten boring. Every once in a while, he still indulged, but this was special. Timing was crucial to snag someone with friends to miss them.

He knew Tachikoma would be out walking (that wretched fucking) dog sometime that evening, and likely after dark. No better time, even if she did have the pet with her.

He was waiting in the woods when she came, pet in tow. He was dressed all in black. A mask wasn't necessary--it was too dark for her to see details, and he couldn't afford to have obstructed vision. He stood as still as the trees, and he waited.

"Come on, Puppy," she coaxed the dog onward. He was growling at something. Sometimes he did that when there were squirrels or raccoons out. Tach was still on Pumpkinhead Estates; there wasn't anyone else here. "Come on," she said, patting her thigh. Normally he was pretty good about listening to her, but every now and then he got a little stubborn.

An owl hooted in the distance. That was probably what the dog was so upset about. "Come on, silly," she chided, skating forward on the path.

He came quietly up behind her. He had the rag ready in one hand, which he'd soaked in chloroform as he'd been waiting.

He quickly reached out and clamped the rag firmly over her mouth and nose, wrapping his other arm around her middle both to prevent her struggling too much and to keep her from falling. He completely ignored the dog, for the moment. Once she was down, the dog would be simple to take care of.

Tach thought she heard a noise, but before she could turn her head, she was grabbed. She struggled a little, unsure of what was happening, then went limp in his arms.

The dog's growls became loud, threatening barks. All of Tach's pets were protective of her, and Puppy would do whatever he could to keep the girl safe. The labrador lunged for Seth, sinking his teeth into his thigh.

It was all Seth could do to let her down carefully before he turned on the dog. It was moments like this that being alive was fun. Everything was crystal clear. The dog, the pain, the knife in his pocket.

He pulled out the switchblade, his eyes locked with the dog's as he flicked it open. He stabbed downward, driving it handle-deep into Puppy's brain.

The dog yelped and twitched before it finally stopped moving.

Tach was lying very still on the grass, her breathing slow and even. She looked not unlike she did when Seth had first visited, in her Halloween decorated house, on the ground looking up at him. Now she was unconscious, though, and her eyes had closed. Instead of lying next to a fake grave, she was lying next to a very real, very dead dog.

He ought have expected the dog would do that. He pulled the blade out as the dog fell limp, though he had to prize its jaws free from his leg. He was wearing jeans, and the denim had done some to lessen the amount of puncture wounds the bite left behind.

His blood would be mixed with the dog's, thankfully, at least for the moment. He walked a few feet away and pulled a roll of gauze out of the pack he'd left hidden in the bushed. Better safe than sorry.

He did a quick field dressing, enough to not leave a blood trail. Then he went back to Tach, and was about to pick her up when he realized he still had blood on his gloves. That wouldn't do.

He wiped them off on his pants before picking her up. Didn't want to get bloody prints all over her. It would be a shame to get blood on anyone who looked as pretty as she did, right about then. He carried her to the car he'd parked in a clearing nearby, out of sight of the road, and put her in the back seat. He laid her down with gentle hands.

Then he drove away, across town and into the night.

Some time later, the blackness started to fade and she could hear muffled sounds of traffic in the distance. Her neck was sore, and she rolled it from side to side, trying to work out some of the tension. In so doing, she found that she couldn't move her shoulders. She was tied to a chair. She blinked, trying to work away the fog. It hadn't been sleep.. She hadn't dreamed.

"Hello?" she called. Her throat felt funny.

Seth was behind her, watching her wake up. He'd brought her to the apartment, a small place in a rundown, nondescript part of town. The room was bare aside from the chair Tach was tied to, with dark floorboards beneath and the walls painted a dingy white. Her chair had been placed directly in front of a window with a nice view of the street outside. So she'd have something to look at and not get bored.

"Are you hungry?" He had a voice scrambler held up to his mouth that made his voice sound quite different, though this thing was much nicer than the ones he was used to back home. Instead of having only two settings--dark and growling or high-pitched and ridiculous--there were also a few in the middle. He'd picked one that had a strange wheezing sound to it, gravelly but not too low. Not too scary, he didn't think. He kept his own voice quiet, to make sure she didn't catch it around the distortion.

Tach made a face, her nose wrinkling some when she heard the weird voice. That didn't sound normal. "Um. Kinda," she answered, sounding confused. Where was she?

She wiggled a little in her ropes, trying to see if her legs could move far enough to let her sit in one of her more comfortable, less conventional postures. They could not. She pouted a little, then tried turning her head far enough to see the person behind her.

He watched her squirming, looking at her hands. They were all he could see really, aside from the back of her head. He studied her cuticles, her soft fingers.

"Do they hurt?" he asked, his eyes fixing on the place where the ropes wrapped around her wrists. It seemed as though he'd completely disregarded the question he'd just asked, but he'd filed it away for later.

Tach's wiggling stopped when he asked. "No..." she said, hesitation in her tone. "I just wanna move." She squirmed again, rolling her toes inward. He'd taken off her rollerblades. "I don't like staying in one place," she confessed. She pouted some, looking down at her striped socks.

"Where are we?"

"Good," he said, glad to hear that. He'd have to remember for later that the bonds were just right at this level of tightness. "If everything goes well," he said calmly, "I'll let you walk around later."

"No place," he said, his eyes still on her hands.

She was still sort of groggy from the chloroform. She alternated between wanting to get up and move around and wanting to go to sleep. She blinked a little, shaking her head. "If it's no place, where am I walking around?" She felt funny about this. She didn't like not being able to move. She fidgeted again. "I'm tired," she said.

Interesting question. And one he wasn't quite sure how to answer. "Just walking around in here," he clarified. "In...no place." He paused a moment before adding, "Don't try and figure it out. You don't have to worry about anything anymore."

Tach furrowed her eyebrows, pouting some. Didn't have to worry anymore? She wasn't really worried about anything before she woke up here. What a weird thing to say. She tried to turn her head again, looking for the origin of the voice behind her. "Where are you? Can we do something? I'm bored. I wanna get up."

"No place," he responded again. There appeared to be a theme to his responses. "That's why the window is there. I can't give you anything right now, and I can't let you up." He said all of this like they were simple, unequivocal facts. He was feeling very calm. Tach was here, and he never had to see her go off with anyone else ever again. He never had to share her. The world was set aright.

"But.." Tach frowned. It was fully sinking in that she was in a Bad Place, and she didn't have any control over the situation. "But.." She looked down at her lap, and the ropes tied around her. "But I don't want a window, I want to do something. I'm bored." Her tone had taking on a whining quality that she rarely displayed.

"How long am I gonna stay here?"

"Soon enough," he consoled. When he felt more comfortable with letting her go unbound, that was.

"Not very long," he said. "We'll be leaving town as soon as the fuss dies down."

Tach tilted her head, frowning. "What do you mean? Where are we going? Who's coming with us?" She was now worried, despite his insistence that she didn't need to be. "What's going on? Why am I here?"

"We're going no place," he said, the corner of his mouth quirking up. "With no one. And you're here for no reason at all."

He started to laugh a little. From his perspective, it was like walking onto the set of a Saturday morning cartoon. All her questions seemed so exaggerated that he practically expected an anvil to fall out of the sky.

Tach didn't laugh, or even smile. His laughter scared her, and she didn't think it was just because of the distortion. She wanted to curl up in a ball but she couldn't move. Was he laughing at her? She didn't see what was funny. She wished she could.

"Is Merv coming with us?" she asked, her voice quieter, more hesitant.

"But. But I don't want them to keep me safe. I want them cuz they're my friends." Even as she said it, she sounded unsure. The way this guy talked made her doubt herself. The things she said sounded stupid. Childish. And this wasn't a stupid situation. She had to take it seriously, and she wasn't sure entirely how.

Tach bit down on her lower lip. "I wanna.. I'm tired.." She didn't really feel very tired, but she wanted to sleep. She was scared, and she needed to find Merv.

"But I want them.." she said, feeling the uselessness of her words as they left her mouth. She didn't know how to win this argument. She wasn't a great debater, and she was the one tied to the chair. She was feeling more powerless by the minute.

She was still squirmy in the chair.

Crying people made Seth laugh most of the time, but right now it just made him very, very uncomfortable. He was just glad he couldn't see it. "Everybody wants to start fresh," he said, staring at the floor. "Most people would kill for a chance like this."

Her cheeks were wet and red now. She wished she could wipe at them, but she couldn't move. She jerked her shoulder back, really wanting to get up now.

He stood behind her, opening the pill bottle and knocking a few into his hand. He replaced the cap and set it down. He'd already filled up a small bottle of water with a soft straw, for just this purpose. "Open up." He was very, very close to her now, and worried just a little that she might hear his voice around the scrambler. It was unlikely, but he kept his voice down just in case.

Tach pouted, sniffling a little. She got pretty quiet and nonresponsive for a few minutes. She shifted in the seat, trying to get comfortable enough to fall asleep. But she was starting to feel jittery, and just couldn't get herself to relax. She'd never had trouble falling asleep before, even during the day if she wanted to. But now she just felt weird.

"Can I lie down?" she asked, unsure if she'd already asked it or not. "Is there a bed? I like sleeping in a bed." As lovely as a bed sounded right now, she wasn't sure she could get to sleep. Maybe she really wasn't that tired.
