Anders was not really in any condition to be in public. He hadn't really left his room much for... well a while. Guilt at what Justice had done sent him nearly into hiding. But the moment he heard his little girl was hurt he jumped up, pulled on clothes quickly and ran out of the house. He probably should have told Hawke and Merril, but he was in such a blind panic and hurry that he didn't even think about it.

He ran to the nearest portkey which brought him very close to his clinic. It took the girl at the front desk a few moments to recognize him, but as soon as she did she took him right to Melora's room.

Watson hadn't given Anders much information over texts. If Watson could have handled it on his own, he likely would have. He wasn't in the business of sending out texts in the middle of surgery. He would've called Anders afterward, or had an assistant do it, but this was an emergency.

Watson couldn't fix this. He didn't think the best surgeons in the country could. Watson didn't know how many feet Melora had fallen from, but she'd broken a lot of bones. Ontop of that, she'd been impaled by a large tree branch, which was sticking out of her chest. Her skin was deathly pale and there was blood everywhere. Watson could normally keep calm, but Melora was his friend, and Gaius and Anders both loved the girl. Right now, Watson was frightened that Melora would die before Anders arrived.

When Anders came in, Watson was trying to stop the bleeding and clean the area around the wound.

Anders had to grab the door way so he didn't collapse when he came in. It took him only a second to calm himself before rushing into the room. He wasn't sure if he'd ever seen wounds this bad. He pulled magic to his hands and he walked forward. "John, when I tell you to, I need you to pull that branch out."

He placed his hands on Melora, pulling as much magic as he could, trying to knit the tissue back where it should be.

	Watson nodded and moved his hands so they were poised over the branch. He didn't want to risk bumping it before Anders gave the word. He steadied himself, focusing on the task at hand. He had to stay calm. Why on Earth did he wish Sherlock was here? Melora's breath was shallow, and her lungs gurgled and rasped. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	He had to make sure that he was ready. This had to be done very quickly. "Okay, pull." The moment he started pulling he poured magic in, knitting everything back together. 	Watson pulled the branch out as quickly and smoothly as he could manage. He set it aside and stepped back so that Anders could have space. He had blood, in case she needed a transfusion. He didn't want to interrupt Anders, though, knowing he needed concentration. The wound closed, healing quickly. Melora's eyes opened and she gasped for air. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Anders didn't stop when she woke up. He had to make sure everything was finished, even though all he wanted to do was stop and hug his little girl tightly.

It seemed like forever, but it was only a few seconds before he healed up the last bit and pulled her into a tight hug. He was shaking and the huge amount of adrenalin that had been keeping him going was wearing out. "Are you alright, Melora? Please say you're alright."

"Papae!" Melora clung tightly to him as soon as he hugged her. She nodded, tears running down her cheeks. "I'm okay, Papae," she said, her face pressed into his shoulder. "I was scared, then everything went black.."

Watson stepped back to the doorway, not wanting to intrude on the family moment. He was relieved Melora was okay. He ducked out, pulling out his phone to text Gaius.

"Okay." She reluctantly loosened her grip on him so that he could get out his phone. Melora hung on to one of his arms, resting her forehead against him while he dialed Hawke's number.

She was tired, and there was a dull aching in her chest. She was alive and breathing and there was no blood spurting out of her, but she wasn't going to be doing any cartwheels any time soon.

That Anders was calling her was probably a good sign. Maker only knew he'd been holed up in his room for far too long, avoiding his entire family... honestly, Hawke wouldn't be surprised if it was one of Melora's schemes that'd finally worked to get him out.

When she answered, she was half-tempted to pinch herself, just to make sure it wasn't a dream. "Anders?"

	Why did Hawke somehow doubt that was the entire truth? "...It was more severe than you're making it out to be, wasn't it? They wouldn't call you in for just anything." She wouldn't be mad, or anything close to it, really. Her concern for Melora tended to override most things like that. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

They had damn well better, or Hawke was going to come down there and forcibly drag them back. Whether they wanted to or not.

"I guess if anyone could save her from something bad, it'd be you." She probably wouldn't even ask when she got home. Just that she was okay now was all that mattered... and hey, if she wanted to tell her at any point, she wouldn't turn it down. "Don't go right back into hiding, okay?"
