Entry tags:belladonna boudreaux, petit lapan lebeau

Who: Belle and Petit
What: getting rid of stolen goods, possibly being insane together.
Where: Petit's place
When: Yesterday, before Gilbert went poof
Rating: Maybe some language?

The file for the houses was tucked into her laptop case, along with her laptop. She was feeling somewhat cheerful, for once. Maybe it was getting back to doing things she'd done before. Old Town had done her more good than she'd realized.

She was at the address Petit had given her. After a moment of surveying the layout, she knocked loudly.

It shouldn't have been hard to find, really, or to case, it was a reverse-version of the Thieves' Guild guildhall, well, at least the one where Petit was from, might not be anything at all like the one here, reverse or not.

In any case, Petit got to the door first, ushering Belle inside and down the hall to the kitchen, "Welcome to the lair. No idea why we insist on calling it that, really, but it fits."

And it did, really, given as how there was a strong goth-chic influence in all the decor.

Belle laughed. "That's alright, as long as it's not somethin' stupid like the fortress of solitude or soemthin'."

She set her bag on the table, pulling out files. "Good to be back down this way. I meant t' come 'round for Mardis Gras, but I was doing other things. Anyway, these are the papers, and general layouts of the houses. Anything valuable has already been removed, anything extraneous has been tossed out. So they're empty, like a house for sale would be."

Petit nodded, dragging a chair out from the table, "Good, that'll make things easier, any sort of history I should know about? Grisly murder as a selling point kind of thing?"

That. . .actually made Belle laugh. "The owner was brutally murdered in London. Stabbed through the back with a bone, and had half his head burnt off."

There wasn't any kind of satisfaction or joy in her face. It was just the simple stating of fact. "If that helps."

She shrugged, "Depends on who's buying, really. There's a place down in Ohio I think, they actually call it the Axe Murder House, been a major selling point for paranormal investigators and ghost hunting clubs, that sort of thing."

Another shrug, "So, yeah, really just depends on the buyer, and it's not like I've never made shit up before."

"That's kinda sad, really. Anyway, most important thing t' remember, at this point, is that Matthew Kent, the legal owner, moved t' Monaco. Because they never got a positive ID on the body."

And hell, Julien needed some sun, even if he was actually dead. In fact, one could argue that he needed it more now.

"Nice, easy to lose people there." A shrug, "Not that it really matters in the long run, I'm just the broker at this point, I'm exempt from a whoooole lot of things."

She hadn't been kidding when she said she liked playing realtor.

"True, but it helps t' know, in case y' get asked. Beside, it'll take better cops than most places have t' catch me or you. I'm assumin' anyway."

She shrugged, stretching her back a little. "Guess, beside the papers and a possible tour of the houses, if you wanna do that, all we gotta argue about now is price, if you're wantin' an agreement upfront."

Another nod, "Good to know."

A shrug then, tipping her chair back on two legs, "Well, like I said, mostly I'm just doing this to keep myself busy, not like money's really an issue. Of course, more isn't going to go amiss either, so, uh, percentage is always good. Of each, of the gross, doesn't matter to me, whichever you'll miss less."

"I'm not feelin' too greedy, honestly. I've got enough. Maybe 25% of the gross, with and extra ten percent if y' get any of 'em sold in the next month."

It gave her a challenge, and a quarter of the profits was likely to be a big chunk of change.

There was browarching, oh so much browarching. Apparently expressions were genetic as well.

"I think I can manage that. Well, I'll give it the old college try anyway." A pause, "Not that I even know what that is."

"From what I've seen, I think the old college try is doin' somethin' stupid while drunk and bein' cheered on by your similarly drunk and stupid friends."

God, she was so much like Remy it was scary. Belle laughed and shook her head.

"Y' must be a heartbreaker, chere."

"Hm, not the best way to go about selling real estate then. Whatever, I'll come up with something."

She scratched the back of her neck then, "Uh, apparently so? Does it count if I didn't know about it until recently?"

"I don't think most find out they are on purpose." She notes, her voice a little softer. "But I think you might mean a little differently than I do."

She shrugged, "Well, I kind of always knew I was one in the 'hah, can't touch' sense, but ... yeah, I just found out about the literal a little while ago, during the whole 'everybody's got the wrong parts' ordeal."

"That wasn't a fun time at all." She notes. Maybe that part's genetic too? All sorts of crazy things are, she's finding out.

She shrugged, "Once I got over still being goddamned short, it wasn't so bad." In fact, it had actually been kind of entertaining.

"I mean, you'd think I'd be taller as a guy, and I was but only by like, an inch or two, Artan was still taller than me even with tits."
