Gaz Membrane will destroy you. ([info]gameslave2) wrote in [info]utr_logs,

Who: Gaz Membrane and Tyrion Lannister.
What: Meeting for the first time IRL.
When: Tuesday.
Where: The streets of London.
Warnings: Swearing, snark.

Gaz had needed another pair of shoes. When she'd lived at Mordhaus, she'd have had one of the Klokateers get her one, but now that she was living on her own in LA, there was nobody but her to take care of her. Which was fine; Gaz had been taking care of herself since she was little (and sometimes her brother, too). Since the time she realized that her shoes were too threadbare to carry anyone anywhere any longer was about four in the morning, she decided to go to London shops.

Wandering around, she tried to find a pair as close to her old one as possible. Wearing black and white striped thigh highs and a black leather halter dress, she got her fair share of attention, but ignored it all.

Tyrion got particular enjoyment out of walking down streets here. No one fled, no one cowered, and while he got the occasional gape they for the most part managed to be polite. He wasn't the Imp any longer, but he still had money. It truly was the best of both worlds.

Plus it gave him a terrible sort of enjoyment to picture what would happen if Cersei or that little shit of a nephew of his saw those cars driving around.

He hadn't noted Gaz yet. His evening stroll had put him in an excellent mood though. It wasn't hard to tell that he was a very happy man at present.

She hadn't noticed Tyrion either, but she had noticed a few people gossiping about a dwarf. She glared at the people, folding her arms. "Yeah. People come in different sizes. Now shut up, I'm looking at things." Her eyes narrowed, and all of the daytime shadows pulled in around her, making it look like she was bathed in darkness.

... people usually listened to her.

Tyrion entered the shop just as he heard the impassioned little speech. It was the girl (really, he had a hard time of thinking of her as a mother or anything of that nature) from the journals.

Hrm. She was curious.

Walking up to a clerk with an air entirely of a Lannister, even of if that meant precisely nothing in this world, he began to get fit for a new pair of loafers.

Shoes in this world were a vast improvement. Walking was almost easy.

She tiptoed up to examine a pair of boots, far too petite to simply grab it herself. Instead, she climbed on a chair and used that to select a pair of stompy thigh high boots. When she landed back on the floor she sat down in a chair and started to try them on. She blinked when she saw more people looking at the guy she'd talked to online. What was the big fucking deal?

Tyrion paid it no mind. Compared to some of the horseshit he dealt with in King's Landing, this treatment barely registered.

And even Lannister dwarves had ridiculously high opinions of their own worth.

Raising his voice to carry, he motioned at the girl. "Gaz, wasn't it? Black or brown?" He motioned at the shoes.

She was buckling the straps on the boots she'd picked out, getting them to just below her knee when the guy said her name. It made her blink, and then she actually considered the question.

"I never thought I'd say this, but brown."

Tyrion snorted.

"The perils of a pale complexion. Runs in the family." Even if neither of his siblings were here, he couldn't help the smirk that crossed his lips. Did it ever.

"Black makes me look ill."

"It's about all I'd ever wear. I think it's not because you're pale but because of your hair. The golden undertones." She put on the other boot, standing up and twirling a little in front of a mirror.

Tyrion laughed again. She made him laugh. How odd. Shae had managed it, but then again, he had also been paying her to do so. This woman he hadn't, last he checked.

Strange. Now she was woman in his internal dialogue. Very interesting.

"As I said, family trait."

"I don't really know what that is. I mean - for other people, yeah, but not for me." She and Dib were siblings, and she'd defend her brother to the death, but she'd been made from a different DNA profile than her brother. She knew big heads like his didn't run in the family - she sure didn't have one.

He had a nice laugh, which she made a mental note of, but didn't comment upon. Instead, she just sat down, took that pair of shoes off and tried on another.

Tyrion walked (he refused to acknowledge it was in the neighborhood of a waddle) over to where she was sitting and motioned to the clerk to bring him a different style.

"Care to elaborate? It sounds intriguing." He was teasing, but it lacked the harsh edge of their earlier bouts.

Gaz was pulling on boots that were longer, that covered up a bit of pale white thigh in addition to her calves. She spoke to him, by way of staring at the floor. "My father made me. He took genetics from different places and made me. And I only saw him six or seven times my whole life. He was busy and left my brother and myself to raise ourselves."

She loved her father, but oh, she hated him too.

Tyrion cocked an eyebrow. "And I thought my father was a jackass." He nodded at the pair presented to him and tried them on.

"Mine was too busy 'helping people' to raise the kids he created in a lab." Gaz's voice dripped with spie, but she couldn't help but chuckle at his choice of words. "How did yours mess you up?" Standing up, she checked the second pair of shoes she'd tried on, turning to and fro in a mirror.

"Let's just say he never viewed me as much of an excuse for a son."

Tyrion wasn't about to open up about Tywin Lannister to someone he just met. After all, even here he half expected anything he said to get back to his father. Somehow.

"He sounds like an asshole. You're funny." It was basically an admission of her thinking he was an interesting person, that he was nice, but since she was Gaz Membrane, those were things she'd never say out loud.

Tyrion inclined his head to accept the compliment, and nodded to the clerk to purchase the shoes. He really preferred this footwear to the boots sported in the Seven Kingdoms.

Gaz looked at her clerk and pointed at the boots she was currently wearing. "These. I"m wearing them out." She handed over her credit card, folding her arms. She'd terrified the girl into subordination.

Oh, he liked that in a woman. But he wasn't stupid. Even here, he expected very little in the way of companionship. Even paying a woman seemed oddly frowned on.

Clearly he'd have to think of something. Luckily, he was clever.

"They look well on you."

It was rare, and it was seldom, but it was possible - Gaz made a joke. "You're just saying that because you can see up my skirt."

Was that a smile? Sort of, as close to one as she ever got, but it was gone before most people would have recognized it as such.

"So you'll have no problem telling." She held out a hand so the sales clerk could put her credit card back into it, slipping it into her purse without talking to the woman again. "Do you want to get lunch?" It was obvious she was talking to Tyrion.

"Did you have pizza where you're from? There's a good place down the street which is why I come here at all." There was no point in pussyfooting around the 'oh you're from another world' song and dance. He was. It was obvious. Then again, with her bright purple hair and gothy club kid clothing, so was she.
