WHO: Bela and Dean
WHAT: Date night
WHERE: A steakhouse in London, then home
WARNINGS: Entirely probable.

Ever since he'd arrived, Bela hadn't heard much from Dean about Sam. That could mean one of two things - either everything was fine, or something was very wrong that Dean didn't want to talk about. Either way, she figured, they could use a night out.

She walked out into the garage, where she figured she'd find her husband. "Dean?" Bela called, expecting to find him under the car.

Bela nodded her thanks before offering him the plate. "This isn't a course," she explained to Dean, before he could ask. "It's called an amuse-bouche. Just one bite, to sort of wake up your mouth. Then the appetizer, then the main course, then dessert." She popped the shrimp into her mouth, purring. "Oh, that's brilliant. Try it."

"Huh, kinda like a sample to show off?" He popped the food into his mouth, sighing contentedly. "Mmph, I could eat a bucket of that." The best serving size in Dean's estimation was the bucket.

Bela chuckled. "Tell Brendann to put it on his menu, instead of making it an amuse." She took a sip of the beer. "Mm. That's rather nice as well." Dean knew something about beer, she knew that.

He took a swig, closing his eyes and swishing it in his mouth. "Blueberries. Microbrew. Little bit of licorice in there too." He smiled to himself, leaning back. He made a mental note to ask the kid what the beer was when he came back over. And soon he did, with a plate of carpaccio and a side of au gratin potatoes.

"Licorice?" Bela echoed, rather impressed. "I have to be honest, I didn't think you had such a good palate." She broke off when Brendann reappeared, smiling at him as he set the food down. "Is that lamb or beef? It looks lovely."

"Both, actually! And there is a licorice base note in the beer. You're good, Dean. If I ever need a brewologist, I'm calling you." He grinned and gave them each new beers, then asked them if they wanted a lamb burger, beef, or both. Dean ordered both, immediately happy.

As he took a dubious bite of raw lamb, he sighed in contentment. "If all fancy places were like this, I'd come out with you more," he smiled.

Bela opted for lamb for her burger, and smiled at her husband when he tried the carpaccio. "It's not bad, admit it." She chuckled, squeezing his hand. "I'm glad you're liking it so far. Look at Annie!" She couldn't help but notice her daughter working, face intent, hollering orders at the waitstaff.

"I really do like it, and oooh!" He grinned, utterly charmed when his daughter told someone he was a lazy cocksucker. He could've sniffled up; it was actually kind of sweet, and he squeezed Bela's hand under the table.

Bela laughed hard, not at her daughter but at her husband. "Like father, like daughter?" She teased, feeling happy. The girls were hers, but Annie especially was very obviously Dean's daughter. "She'll be ridiculously proud of herself if you compliment her later, you know. She lives for your good opinion."

"She's a teeny little drill sargent. I'm proud of her. From what I read about the restaurant business, it's crazy hard. On their feet for twelve hours at a stretch, under pressure all the damn time to be perfect - it's just crazy as hell. Never mind me, her granddad would be proud of her." He smiled fondly, sighing in contentment as he popped more meat into his mouth.

Bela smiled. "The other two aren't exactly underachievers, either." She took another bite of the carpaccio before trying the potatoes and purring. "Mm. Excellent."

"They're not, no, they're awesome as well, but we can see Anniegirl." He figured that was a good enough reason to talk about her. He smiled, eating as well, happy to have food in his stomach. But then his burger came out, and he was pretty sure he wanted to sleep with it. But it was so small! "Why did you shrink my burger?" He felt pouty.

Bela blinked, laughing. "Because there's likely a bloody enormous steak headed your way as well? Trust me, my love, you'll eat well." She had no doubt of that, not with how hard she could see Annie working.

His eyes went wide and then he grinned, digging into the sliders and groaning. He really couldn't have been happier. The prescription for Dean Winchester bliss was good food and his family, but most specifically, his wife.

"What should we do for our anniversary this year? We should do something good, it's almost five years now."

"It's true." God, was it already almost that time? She'd rather lost track of it, what with the babies. "Lord, what will everyone say? I think you remembered it before I did." Bela smirked, taking a bite of her lamb burger. It was amazing, and she caught her daughter's eye, making a thumbs up before continuing on.

"I can remember things, woman." He rolled his eyes at her, but was grinning. People never expected him to be sentimental or romantic, but Bela knew the truth.

She did, and she'd always appreciated it. It was a secret she kept for him. "Well." Bela thought for a second. "What about a cruise? Or a train trip? Something where we cover a lot of ground. Now that I'm not pregnant and can actually move around again."

He thought it over about which he'd prefer. "Whichever has larger rooms," he decided. Cruises tended to have teeny rooms from the people he'd known who had been on them, but so did trains. He nibbled a fry, closing his eyes. "It's so much better when they're not frozen, oh my god."

"I'll look into it. It isn't as though we couldn't afford a bloody huge room on a cruise ship." Bela smiled, though she looked over and nicked a fry when he raved about them. "Mm. Those are lovely, it's true. Done proper."

"Really? They even make those?" Dean knew he had money, but he wasn't really aware of all the things money could do, or what he could do with it. Hell, if he'd known there were amazing fries like this, he'd have been in Annie's restaurant (yes, it was hers, she worked there) every day.

"We could get a suite on a ship that's bigger than our bedroom at home." Most ships had those; one just had to pay. Bela chuckled. "Maybe we should look into that. I know a line that would go from Madagascar to Australia - a little different than the usual places."

"Madagascar sounds pretty. I've read about that place." Granted, he only did research on it because of the movie with the singing animals, but hey, he did research on his own. "Maybe we could renew our vows." It came out as a quiet murmur, but he hoped she picked up on it.

Bela heard him, though she was surprised when she processed what he'd said. "That'd be lovely," she said quietly, smiling. "We've put up with each other for five years and three children, after all."

He nodded, squeezing her hand. "I like letting everyone know that I know damn well how good I have it." He kissed her gently, one hand tangling in her hair, ignoring the 'awwww' that the pastry chef gave them.

Bela smiled, closing her eyes. "One thing about you, Dean." Her tone was serious, but fond. "There's never a moment I don't feel loved."
