WHO: Corso & Captain E'cho
WHAT: Post Happy Funtime
WHERE: Oahu, Hawai'i
WARNINGS: They just had sex. So kinda?

E'cho couldn't help stretching out like a contented cat. Maybe anticipation made things better, but she honestly wasn't sure that could be.

They could always try again later when her brain stopped being missing.

Curling closer to Corso, she couldn't help but tease. "Sorry I had to get so specific on this particular mission."

Corso cocked his head toward her, giving her a half-grin. "Apparently I needed some extra instruction," he said, always willing to admit his shortcomings.

He wrapped his arm around his captain's shoulders, pulling her closer to him, halfway onto his bare chest. "You've never led me wrong yet."

E'cho had to laugh at that. She couldn't help it. Wrapping an arm around his waist, she shook her head slightly.

"You did most the leading that time, Corso. I think I liked it." She looked out on the beach, completely at ease. For once.

"Don't get me wrong. I like you being a gentleman. Just... like this better."

Corso chuckled, kissing her forehead. "Nothing wrong with a gentleman taking the lead every once in a while." He didn't really see it as two different things. He looked out for E'cho, even if she was the one in charge most of the time. He protected her, and made sure she was as happy as he could possibly make her. Seemed like he'd accomplished that mission.

Corso kept the one arm slung around her while his other hand went back behind his head, looking relaxed. "I could get used to this," he said, smiling.

He'd meant the planet, the island, the house, everything. It sounded a might more specific than he'd meant it, though. "Well, providing you let me."

E'cho sighed in a sort of mutual happy agreement.

"You don't see me kicking you out of bed, do you?" She turned around, her chin on his chest while she smiled up at him. "You realize landing on Ord Mantell and having that asshole Skavik steal my ship was the best thing that ever happened to me, right?"

Felt like a thing worth finally pointing out. At the time she'd been rather angry about it.

Corso blinked, looking utterly and completely taken by surprise. "Never thought I'd hear you say that in a million years." He understood what she meant; they wouldn't be together like this otherwise. Still.

"I'm glad I ended up with you too, Captain. Still. Crazy to think of that bastard Skavak making anybody happy." The guy left a trail of misery a parsec wide. Not really the train of thought Corso wanted to be following right now, though.

He ran his fingers down her arm, trying to focus on his captain.

"Oh, I wouldn't go that far. Just the actions. Had some consequences I really like. Still not sorry I killed him."

She really had no regrets on that particular score.

"But you make me happy, Corso. Really happy, so much I feel like I'm going to burst some days, because I know I don't deserve it."

"Me neither. Universe is definitely a better place without Skavak running around." The more time he spent with the captain, the more he was learning about moral grey areas, but killing Skavak was one thing Corso was damn sure was the right thing to do. Not only did the guy steal Torchy and the captain's ship, but he used women left and right. That didn't sit well with Corso.

Corso smiled. "That's the idea, Captain. Now that Skavak's dead and we don't have to worry about the Empire and the Republic going after eachother, making you happy is pretty much my mission in life."

E'cho crawled a little more onto his chest, hoping she didn't poke him in the side with one of her elbows. She was a pointy sort.

"Corso, some day I'm going to figure it out. What you see in me. It's got me more than a little curious, not gonna lie."

Corso let E'cho get settled before wrapping his arms around her waist. He liked that feeling of her skin on his, a lot.

He blinked, his head tilting in confusion. "What I see in you? Captain, you're smart, you're beautiful, you're strong. I never met a woman like that before you." He smiled.

E'cho gave him a wry smile, her fingers tracing an idle sort of pattern on his shoulder.

"I'm also a scoundrel, a criminal and according to some planets, a murderer. It doesn't matter that it was always trying to help out someone else. I'm not perfect. Not even in the same galaxy."

"Sure it matters." Corso didn't make a habit of arguing with the captain, but he'd make an exception on this topic. "Maybe it doesn't matter to the Imperials that you were trying to help people, but it matters to me. And I'm an accomplice in all the crime, y'know. Not gonna start judging now, especially when I agree with most the things you've done."

"We make a good team, Captain. Can't think of anyone else I'd want to follow around the galaxy."

E'cho looked at him seriously, for once no trace of sarcasm or self-depriciation. She was sure there were a few muscles in play that hadn't been for awhile, but then again, it was that kind of night.

"You too, Corso. Thank you."

Corso looked up into her eyes, smiling softly. One of his hands went up to play with her hair. "Tonight's been.. unbelievable."

"And given the whole 'vortex-universe' thing, I guess that's sayin' something." Corso Riggs with a gorgeous, naked ship captain laying on him seemed almost more unlikely than ending up in a galaxy they'd never heard of.

E'cho found herself leaning into his touch in spite of herself. "Gotta admit, Corso. You've got some pretty impressive moves yourself."

She'd found herself wondering just where he'd picked some of those up. Granted, she couldn't be jealous of any invisible woman. Corso's affection seemed nigh unshakeable, and she was hardly a blushing virgin herself. For all she knew, it could be natural talent.

Still, she'd never felt quite as safe and wanted as she did in his arms.

Corso shrugged. "Having the tools doesn't do much good without the talent to back it up," he said with a cocky smirk. When he was around her, he felt like he could do pretty much anything. And he liked showing off around her. She deserved the best, and he couldn't stand the thought of letting her down.

Of course, he didn't want to lie to her, either. "Or it could just be beginner's luck," he said, a little bashful. None of that really mattered as long as she'd enjoyed it, though. He knew he had.

E'cho knew her poker face failed her at that moment. She just looked at him incredulously.

"Beginner's luck?" There was no way in the galaxy that had been his first time. She just refused to believe it.

But Corso Riggs was actually incapable of bluffing, lying or anything else patently dishonest. If they were up to shenanigans on a planet, he usually just kept quiet.

... huh.

Corso blushed, scratching his head awkwardly. "C'mon, Captain, I told you I'm not very good at this 'courting' thing." His family had been old fashioned in the way they did things, and he and his ex-fiance weren't really given any 'alone' time. Their dates had been chaperoned by their families; that didn't really encourage romance and intimacy.

Sure, a lot of young guys found ways around the rules, but Corso wasn't the type to head to the local cantina to find a girl on the side. He knew who he could've gone to if he wanted, but Corso felt strongly that it was wrong to use women like that. You couldn't take this sort of thing lightly.

She looked at him in a state something like wonder. It was hard to not feel like the luckiest girl in the world right then.

E'cho reached down, taking his hand with a grin that was just a first-cousin to shy. That alone was unusual as hell.

"I think you're doing just fine, Corso. But you don't have to call me Captain."

"Kind of a habit," he said, smiling at her. The way she was looking at him, though... That wasn't the combat-ready, hardened space captain he was used to seeing. There was something gentle about it all. He was pretty damn lucky, to see her like this. Not just the naked part.

"I could give it a shot, though." He squeezed her hand, his free hand reaching up to caress her shoulder. "Arabelli, I love you."

Shit.

She didn't even think he knew her name. She'd gone by E'cho for so long, how did he even find that out?

And she sure as hell wasn't about to cry. Nope. Trick of the light.

"I love you too, Corso." The words were quiet, almost whispered. And as a rule, she wasn't a whispering woman.

"Guess I should've told you that beforehand," Corso said, smiling sheepishly. "Things got a little crazy." He smirked, recalling what she'd said earlier. "The good kind of crazy." He chuckled softly.

"Still, didn't mean to do things out of order. You know I've loved you for a while now, right?" It was probably incredibly obvious. Following her around like a puppy-dog, and all. Still, if she had a hard time figuring out what he saw in her, maybe they needed to take it back to basics.

E'cho hooked a leg around his, rolling so she could lay on her back and look up at him. She liked the way his hair fell around his face.

"I know. You pretty much show me every day. All I do is buy you weapon clips and spend every firefight hoping you don't get your dumb head shot off."

There'd been some touch and go scrapes they'd had that she frankly didn't like to think about. She'd never had someone she'd been so afraid to lose.

Corso was more than willing to oblige, rolling with her as she moved.

"What, and leave you alone with the flea-ridden wookie and Risha?" He didn't like outright insulting women, but the way he said Risha's name gave some clue how he felt about her. "Can't get rid of me that easily, Arabelli."

One of these days he'd get used to saying her name, really.

She couldn't help the laugh that escaped her throat. He so rarely would speak an ill word about any woman. She had never really disliked Risha, but Corso more than made up for it.

"I don't plan on it, Farm Boy." The way she said his name practically was a caress. "You're stuck with me."

Corso smiled. There was a time that sort of name would get under his skin. Certainly if Darmus or Skavak had called him that, he would've been gritting his teeth. But there was a lot of affection behind it when the Captain said it--kind of like a pet name. He liked it.

"Can't think of anywhere else I'd rather be."
