"It's pretty thankless," admitted Sam with a sigh and a shake of his head, "and usually it wasn't me getting thanked by whatever pretty girl we were saving. But honestly, it's better than letting those things terrorize the world. If we didn't, it'd be a lot less safe, I suppose, but growing up into the life's... well." He shook his head and then thanked the waiter who had approached with their drinks. He ordered the soup du jour, and a medium salad to go with.
