Who: Robin & Ishiah (and probable cameos by Cal and Zepar)
Where: The Corner (and possibly parts beyond)
When: Right after this
Warnings: Possible, will update if necessary.

Robin hadn't been exaggerating that he could be at The Corner in minutes, it wasn't far from where he'd taken up residence. While he wasn't entirely sure this was a good idea, since he didn't, and couldn't, know what time frame Ishiah was from, he knew that he had to go all the same. Because maybe, just maybe, if there was someone out there watching over his little black soul, he was going to have a chance to redeem himself for disappearing like he did.

There was a small smile at the jangle of the bottle-cap chime on the door when he opened it, discordant, but he liked it, it reminded him of old times, when the humans were still learning about sounds and music. He shook his head, dragging a hand through his hair and giving the cafe a quick once-over, no sign of Ishiah yet. He took a seat at the counter and gave Zepar a nod when the Grigori asked if he was having the usual.

Ishiah spent longer than he would have liked staring at what little conversation he and Robin had shared before he started for The Corner. He couldn't deny the nerves that had settled in the pit of his stomach if he wanted to - and he really would have liked to. The situation was jarring, but he wouldn't let it dampen the niggling hope and desire to see Robin again. Even if their "timelines" didn't match up.

When he reached the coffee shop, he spied Robin through the glass before he opened the door. After a moment's hesitation, he opened the door and stepped inside, gaze moving to the chime briefly when it sounded before he let it close. His eyes softened at the sight of the Puck before he took the seat next to him. Folding his arms on the counter, he turned his full attention to Robin and attempted to will the tension from his muscles to no avail.

"Robin," he started, pausing to glance towards the Grigori, "thank you for meeting with me."

Zepar, it seemed, had some sort of coffee-drink radar, because he was already pulling a drink together for Ishiah before Robin's was even finished.

The puck scoffed softly, shaking his head, though he noticed the tension lingering along the Peri's spine, and not the useful, cat-like coil of it, but something a little more ragged. The same kind he'd been carring around for a while now, just at the edges, "As if I'd turn you down." Was his reply, warm enough, bordering on actually amused, but there was an edge to it, something that might well have been uncertainty. It didn't suit him.

Which would be why he went for blunt instead: "What had happened last? Before you arrived here?"

Caliban was right. Not that Ishiah doubted the youngest Leandros brother, but he hadn't realized just how deeply Robin had really recoiled into himself until he witnessed it. It only served to heighten his concern for him and that was one thing he had no intention of tucking away.

Ishiah shook his head once, a mute but small gesture that rid his spine of some of the tension, but his expression held tight to its neutrality.

"It's been five months since Niko Leandros put an end to Cherish and the last of the Auphe were taken care of." He paused, but kept his gaze steady on the Puck. "Caliban mentioned you're from a more recent time."

His brow creased while he did a quick mental calculation, finally shaking his head again, some of his own tension ebbing away at the realization, "I am, but not much, not enough to matter, in the grand scheme of things."

There was a bare flicker of a smile, somewhat more like his usual self, if tired, "Just means that you hadn't yet had a chance to miss me."

There are a lot of things Ishiah would like to say to that, but most of them are delving into territory they've yet to explore and he's never hidden how he's felt about the Puck. Well, sometimes it edged more on the aggressive side of things, but the emotions where they whether he wanted them to be or not.

He shifts in his seat, studying Robin's expression before he reaches a hand out to brush some of his curls from their resting place on his forehead. "Why have you taken to hiding yourself away?"

He tilted his head reflexively into that touch, altogether too cat-like for his own good just the same as he always had been. Of course, the fact that he was a tactile bastard didn't help either.

"Been busy." He replied, it wasn't entirely a lie, and was considerably less of one than 'I haven't' which was the first reply to spring to mind.

The response earns him a look of disbelief and an arched eyebrow. Ishiah doesn't know Caliban like Robin does, but he knows well enough that he doesn't say things like that for his own benefit. He pulls back his hand, setting it palm flat on the counter.

"Busy," he echoes the word with a flat tone, again opting for neutrality.

His brow arched just slightly, both hands curling around the mug of coffee that Zepar had just left like some kind of coffee ninja, cups placed and he was already gone helping someone else, giving the pair a chance to talk.

"Yes, busy, tends to happen when one is a well-liked star of stage and screen." Though, really, the fact that it had been enough for Cal to even notice let alone worry about, meant that it was definitely something.

He shook his head before taking a sip of his coffee, "Hardly matters now."

Ishiah glances once at the coffee, but doesn't spare it another. It isn't that he doesn't appreciated the beverage, he's just more focused on Robin at the moment. He could get angry, he thinks, or even possibly annoyed with the responses the Puck is giving him, but he doesn't see the point in it.

"You don't enjoy the attention? There's a distinct difference between 'busy' and isolating yourself." He only has eyes for Robin now, gaze steady and verging on curiosity and tone level. But something flickers in his gaze at the last statement and Ishiah himself has trouble pinpointing just what it is for a moment.

"And why doesn't it matter now?"

"Because I sincerely doubt you're going to let me become a hermit." He replied, the first thing he'd said yet that rang completely true.

He shrugged, an easy, fluid roll of his shoulders that somehow used up more space than it really should have, as if he were shrugging from somewhere near the middle of his back, or if he had joints in places most people didn't, a compound spine perhaps, "But of course I like the attention, you know me that well, I should hope." He shook his head, sipping at his coffee again, "But the adulation of fans will only sustain a body for so long before it becomes irksome instead of enjoyable."
