E'cho knew Corso was a little sick of sand, but she was hoping that he'd find this Hawai'i place as nice as she did. It sure as hell wasn't Tatooine.

Which was good, because Tatooine.

She had plenty of cash, seemingly replacing an investment banker in New York City, whatever that was. The place was too much like Coruscant for her to stick around though. She wanted a home, and she'd deal with a job later.

"What do you think?" They'd just arrived and she was hoping he wouldn't veto it, even with the sand.

Corso tried to convince himself that the portkeys weren't any worse than going into hyperdrive without crash webbing, but there was something disconcerting about landing on your feet instead of landing gear. It took him a few moments to steady himself--something that was a bit harder to do on soft sand.

The sand actually wasn't terrible. It didn't radiate dry heat the way Tatooine's sand did. And the rest of it--the ocean, the palm trees, the bird song--well, it was lightyears better than Tatooine's desert.

He turned to look at E'cho, smiling. "Gorgeous," he said, looking into her eyes.

E'cho felt that weird little flutter in her chest when he said that. Grand scheme of things, she really shouldn't. It's not like she was a fresh girl straight off world for the first time. Growing up in the back alleys of Coruscant she never thought of herself as a beautiful, delicate flower.

Why did Corso manage that in a single word?

"I know, sand. But it's nicer sand." She grinned an impish grin. "Maybe this won't be so bad?"

"Nicer, yeah," he said, smiling. "Having water around helps," he said, glancing out at the ocean. He stepped closer to his captain, putting an arm halfway around her waist. "Having you around helps, Captain."

That was probably too forward. Too much touching too early. His cheeks flushed and he laughed awkwardly, taking a step back. "Sorry. I'm not really good at this." He wasn't a smooth talker.

Could have fooled her. She was turning into such a pushover around him.

"Corso, it's fine. Look." E'cho turned and looked at him with all the seriousness she could muster.

Which wasn't a ton. Serious wasn't her usual M.O.

"Would I be trying to find us a place together if I minded?" They hadn't done much more than a kiss here and there, but honestly E'cho couldn't really stand the idea of being someplace else from him. She'd gotten in the habit, even if living on the freighter wasn't really an option.

She liked having him around.

"Well.." Corso said, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "Thought you might've just felt bad leaving a farmboy stranded on a primitive rock." He gave her a smile that was just a little bashful.

He knew she liked having him around. But being used to him, and even liking him, wasn't exactly the same as him feeling her up like that. She deserved better than that. "I'm not some fancy Coruscant senator, Captain, but I can still try to be a gentleman for you."

	At that, E'cho just had to laugh. Hard. And not I'm a particularly lady like fashion. "Corso Riggs, what the hell would I do with a senator? I'd be bored to tears and throw him out an airlock." She gave him a grin of her own. "It ain't charity, so quit worrying about it." (Reply to this)

	Corso chuckled. He could see her point. Imagining the captain and a senator was a pretty strange picture. "I know. I know it's not charity." He smiled a little, looking her in the eyes. "And you know you couldn't get rid of me as easily as throwing me out an airlock, even if it was." She was pretty well stuck with him. "I just mean you deserve to be treated right, Captain." Took some getting used to, actually. Most men tended to be pointing a blaster at her head or trying to get her to take less credits for a job. It was nice, just not at all in her usual mein.

"So let's find us a house. Maybe one right on the beach?" More excuses for him to maybe walk around without a shirt if he got a mind to.

	"Wherever you want, Captain." He didn't really have any preferences, as long as she was there. Whichever house made her the happiest, that was the one he wanted. He was a little relieved to be off the ship, if he was entirely honest. "Lead on," he said, smiling cheerfully to her. (Reply to this)

E'cho honestly wondered what would happen if she ever managed to topple off the pedestal that Corso so obviously had put her on. In her heart she knew she was a scoundrel, a no good criminal who mostly did things for credits. Sure, she tried to stay on the light side of the path, but sometimes a job was a job and ships took fuel.

Maybe here would be different. Maybe the straight and narrow wouldn't be so hard in a universe not run by the Republic.

"Definitely on the beach," she said, taking his hand and leading them to the first rambler.
