For the longest time, Jayne had feared the wild little thing that now was living in his closet. Mainly for reasons like the whole 'moving into his gorram closet' and 'slashing him out of nowhere in the chest with a kitchen knife.' He knew she was a tough little cuss, and had been cautious around her, to say the damn least.

But that was before Ariel.

What they did to the girl ain't right, and Jayne didn't quite know whose priorities he had to rearrange quite yet to avenge said wrongs, but in the mean time, he'd keep an eye on her. Not for the Captain, not for her brother, but for her. Strong and fast as she was, it didn't take a genius to see she was broken. Maybe he couldn't fix her, but girl was smart as a whip. She'd fix herself, if given the time.

Jayne could find the time. Provided she'd get out of his gorram closet.
