WHO: Jean Grey & River Tam
WHEN: Saturday Night
WHAT: Defending London from the Uruk Hai
WHY: Because screw you logic, that's why

It had been way too long since Jean had flown.

It had also been a long time since she had used her Phoenix gifts to light enemies on fire, but that was far less enjoyable. When this was over, whatever this was, she'd have to make a point of doing it more.

But first, there was work to be done. Some of it was merely ridiculous, like the giant rabbits and singing plants. But vampires and werewolves and these strange goblin men she faced now were terrifying.

Or would be, if she was a different woman. This destruction and terror just made her angry. Very angry.

Jean fought with anger, which was always dangerous. Just because the Phoenix had remained quiet since her arrival was no guarantee that she would remain that way, especially with Jean consumed by rage.

At the moment, she couldn't worry about that though. There were children here, like the one without shoes...

Through the haze of battle, it took Jean a moment to focus enough on the girl to realize what was really going on. Looking at the girl caused her psychic pain. There was so much confusion, razor sharp and almost difficult to get past.

And the girl could fight. The goblin men fell in droves around her even as the ones around Jean stopped struggling under the flames.
