Entry tags:corinth, rob fellows

Who: Corinth and Rob Fellows
What: Nursing a hangover
When: The morning after Rob arrived
Warnings: I don't think so?

Corinth was pretty good at being stealthy. He used his essence to open the door, since it was quieter than messing with a key. Sure enough, Rob was there on the couch, still asleep. With one eye on the cat creature, Corinth moved slowly to the couch to slide the blanket over Rob, hoping he'd be a bit more comfortable. Cor was a nurse, after all.

He slipped into the kitchen, then, to start making coffee. Strong, non-girly coffee. Hangover coffee. He didn't want to startle Rob by turning on any of the lights, and he didn't really need to. There was some light streaming in from outside, enough to see by.

Corinth listened with genuine interest. "Huh. How long were you here?" Back and forth. It wasn't something Corinth had thought was possible. He wasn't sure he particularly wanted it to be possible. He preferred this place.

"More coffee?" he offered.

"Mm, please." He handed over his mug, letting his hand drop so that Salome could rub her head against it, purring away with her ratchety, dry-as-dust rumble of a purr, "A few months, perhaps a year, I'm not sure, I rather put it from my mind."

Corinth refilled the mug. "There are creamers in the fridge, if you want. Got some of the holiday ones." Cor was having a hard time understanding how Robin could agitate Cal. He seemed pleasant enough. "Pretty long trip," he said, shrugging. "I take it you prefer home." Since Robin's reaction to being back had been to go out and get plastered.

He shook his head, stirring some sugar into his coffee, but nothing else, "Dark as night, sweet as sin, only way coffee's done right." He sighed heavily, dragging a hand through his hair, sending the curls into disarray, "I've actually got people there who will miss me now, and think less of me for disappearing." There was more to it than that, but Rob was feeling meloncholy and not as talkative as usual.

Corinth frowned some, thinking as he added creamer to his mug until the coffee was ridiculously light. Maybe he'd been lucky, in a way. If he'd come here a few weeks earlier, when Jo was still alive and in danger without him, it would've driven him nuts. It wouldn't have mattered, in the end, but the worry would've gnawed at him.

"Maybe it'll just be for a few hours, again."

"Maybe." He said with a shrug, "Though I've no better idea what brought me here now as brought me then."

He shook his head, sipping his coffee again, a faint smile drifting into place as Salome climbed up his arm to drape herself across the back of his neck, kneading at his shoulder a moment before relaxing, still purring away.

"You never know, I guess. I don't think we're meant to." Suggesting the people Robin missed might show up wasn't really the best path. He could think of what that would mean from his own past, and it wasn't exactly a pleasant thought. It would cripple you if you waited around for it.

Getting lost in his own thoughts wasn't helping matters. "Sorry," Corinth said, waving a hand. "I get broodier when I have a penis. Something I should probably work on." He took a long sip of his coffee.

A twitch of a smile followed that statement, something closer to his usual fox-in-the-henhouse expression, though still dimmer than usual, "Understandable, I suppose. I've always suspected that breasts are made almost entirely of happiness." He nodded, sipping his coffee, "It's why everyone likes them, even gay men."

Corinth chuckled at that, nodding. "Very true. How could you not? They're all bouncy and fun." Rob was obviously going through some Stuff, but Cor liked him well enough.

"So. Tell me embarrassing things about Cal," Cor said with a smirk.

"That's what I said, made of happiness." One long-fingered hand was already stroking Salome behind the ears, his coffee mug held carefully in the other hand.

His brow furrowed at the demand, "Afraid I don't really know that many. But that's just because he is notoriously difficult to embarrass. At least, through his own actions, walking around naked is a good way to watch him crash into things."

Well, that was no fun. "That doesn't work for me anymore," he said, pouting. "Not for lack of trying, either." There was that one time with the boobs, but that was not the reaction Corinth was going for.

"Probably also helps that you're schtupping him and not his boss. I think that was really what made him flail, not mental images he wanted while working with Ishiah." A sigh followed, shaking his head just once, as if to clear it, sipping at his coffee again and tilting his head towards Salome when she butted her head against his jaw.
