"Not ridiculous," Dar defended. "Just big. But there's a lot of you living here, so it makes sense, right?" She liked the house. It was so huge you could get lost in it, and there were lots of interesting things to look at inside it. Also a lot of books. She did miss having books. They made her feel at home; Theo had worked for a historian, so there'd been a lot of books around when she was growing up. Not long after arriving here she'd spent one week living secretly in a library and reading whatever she could find. That'd been fun.
"I would love some cookies, thank you! I can smell them from here! What type are they? And what sort of movie?" She actually hadn't seen a movie all the way through from start to finish. That would be fun too. And distracting. Distracting was good. "It's really nice of you to have me over, by the way, especially since we hadn't met in person yet." She reconsidered, then grinned sheepishly. "Well, I guess for you we had. Anyway, thanks."
