Varric's mansion had a lot of rooms that Hawke found silly, but she wasn't going to complain. The more rooms there were, the less Varric ended up complaining about being traumatised. "Then what is it? Is he being confusing?"

From what she remembered of their meeting back in Kirkwall, him being confusing wouldn't exactly be a new thing. Even if he wasn't exactly the same Alistair.
