Entry tags:annorah winchester, jae-sun kim

WHO: Annie Winchester and Kim Jae-sun
WHAT: Seduction via food, if Annie's lucky!
WHERE: The Winchester house
WARNINGS: TBD

The house was actually empty for once - Dani was who knew where, and her parents had gone for a romantic weekend. Annie had the house - and more importantly, the kitchen - to herself. Jae-sun would be here soon, hopefully. Hopefully he hadn't forgotten. She hummed idly to herself as she kept an eye on her squid that was slowly pan-frying. She could leave the stove to get the door, if she had to.

He'd stopped on the way to get a half dozen each of pink and white roses. He held them behind his back as he knocked on the door, then raised one hand up to adjust his tie. He could feel his heart pounding, and smiled lopsidedly to himself as he thought of the woman he was there to see.

"Coming!" Annie called, hastily getting her spoons out of pots and all flammable things off the range. She wiped her hands on her apron and headed over to the door, opening it and smiling when she saw him, teasing lightly. "Oh, good, you remembered." Annie's hands rested on the door frame, head leaning on them for a minute. "Come on in here; we've got the house to ourselves except for the cat and dog."

"I like both cats and dogs. I've more experience with cats than anything else because of my father, but they both seem to like me as well." He grinned, handing her the flowers from behind his back, glad she seemed glad to see him.

Annie blushed. "Aw. Thank you, you didn't have to do that." She kissed him on the cheek, beckoning him inside. "Back here's the kitchen. Feel like anything to drink?" She heard dog toenails on the wooden floor, though Roxy didn't seem to be moving fast. She ambled into the kitchen with Vesper on her back, and Annie couldn't help but laugh hard. "That's Roxy, and Vesper's the passenger."

Jae-sun followed her lead, taking his shoes off near the door and padding along behind her. His eyes lit up when he saw the animals, and he laughed out loud. "Goodness, they're quite lovely ladies." He bowed formally to them before going down on one knee, offering them both his hand to sniff."

Okay, that was Goddamned adorable. Annie smiled, though she had to run back over toward the stove and flip the fried calamari. "Sorry. Burnt squid smells terrible, and I did tell you I'd do an octopus trio, not a duo." She chuckled.

"I'm flattered you're cooking for me at all." He beamed when the dog offered him a paw and shook merrily. "And thank you, Roxy, for sharing your home with me this evening."

Annie laughed. "She loves people. Vesper not so much, but she prefers men, the little slut." Annie turned toward one of her other octopus dishes. "Have you eaten this kind of stuff before? Tapas is a little bit like a Spanish version of banchan, except it's served on its own." Banchan were the side dishes that went with cooked rice in Korean cuisine; tapas dishes stood for themselves.

"I've never had it before, but I'm very excited." He'd settled down onto the floor, amused when Vesper came over and made herself at home in his lap. "You must be able to tell that my family has a long history of loving felines, hmm?" He knew just where to scratch, and he did so.

She could hear Vesper purring halfway across the kitchen. "You said you prefer dogs; do you keep cats?" Annie called, sprinkling a bit more paprika on the boiled octopus before turning the burner heat down. "Just have to wait for the spices to set on the boil, and we should be fine here. Are you a wine drinker, or do you prefer things like soju?" Soju was a rice liquor. "Or, I did manage to get my hands on some nokcha, some green tea." She'd actually gone to a market in California famous for those sorts of things. She hadn't had him around to give her native Korean fluency, after all.

"My father does, so I'm well versed in the best places to scratch one. He's had a long standing love affair with one for ... oh, almost five hundred years now, I think." He leaned down to kiss the top of Vesper's head and was rewarded with her stomach. He smiled up at her, thinking how kind it was of her to consider him. "I enjoy most alcohol. Whatever you think will taste best with the food."

"Good Spanish red, then." She'd laid in a bottle. Annie smiled. "I like green tea, I'll probably drink it myself. And you said your father has had the same cat for five hundred years?"

"I like green tea myself, perhaps after dinner." He gently rubbed Vesper's stomach, smiling to himself. "Yuki said she worried about my father being alone after she passed, so my father gave her a part of his soul. It keeps her young and healthy, though it didn't fix her blindness and hearing loss."

"That's ... really adorable, actually." Annie turned off the burner under the third dish, lightly tossing the tiny squid to get the spices rolled. As she worked the pan, she tossed a question over her shoulder. "Are they like, soulmates for real, then? I mean, like, that cat was around when your mom met your dad?" She couldn't quite wrap her head around Roxy living for five hundred years, not like she'd turn it down.

"That's what they think, really. They're soul mates in a not romantic way, in a more familial and friendly way. It's very sweet, really, I wish I had that." He laughed when Vesper licked his chin, as if to say she would volunteer.

Annie saw, and laughed right along with him. That smile was still a complete killer. "Vesper, you're shameless. We only got her because she climbed in an upstairs window and my mom found her asleep on my father's back." She set the boil pan to a simmer and turned to him, smiling. "Will you pardon eating in the kitchen? I need to watch the caramel for the dessert." They had a good-sized island and barstools; hopefully he wouldn't mind. She started to get out the wine and a few glasses.

"She clearly just likes human company, isn't that right?" He grinned up at Annie. Her smile made him happy, and he nodded. "The kitchen will be fine. You're cooking for me, I'll eat it anywhere. It smells amazing."

Annie smiled, starting to plate. "Figured I'd ask. And Vesper and my mom argue over who gets to sleep with my father some nights. Ow." It was almost conversational, the exclamation; drops of boiling water landed on her wrist as she drained the octopus pieces. "Come have a seat." She held the plate out, setting it in front of one of the places, letting him have a look.

He looked at her, moving to look at her wrist. The food came second to her. "Do you want me to help you forget that you hurt yourself?" He cocked his head, taking her wrist in his hands and guiding her to the cold water tap.

"It's fine, really." Annie protested, but only a little. Frankly, it was kind of nice that he cared. "I get cut and burned all the time."

"Not while I'm around." He smiled, running her wrist under the tap and teasing the part of her mind that was in pain. After a moment, he kissed her wrist gently. "Better?"

Okay, that might come in handy, she had to admit. Annie blushed, smiling. "If you ever come into a three-star kitchen, you would just faint if you saw some of the chefs' hands. But thanks, really." She looked back over. "The, uh, the plates are set." He made her lose her train of thought.

"I'm sure I would, but for now, let me dote on you." He couldn't help cupping her cheek to kiss her gently on the mouth, pulling her to him by her waist. The moment passed as quickly as it had started, and he smiled. "Will you be eating with me?"

"You do that on purpose." Annie was fairly convinced, but as dreamy as she knew she sounded, she snapped out of it quickly enough. "Um. Yeah, I plated another for me, I just hadn't set it out." Annie smiled. "I don't miss a chance to eat chopitos." She went to go pour the wine, putting a glass in front of him.

He smiled to himself, moving to pull her chair out and help her sit. Once she was settled, he sat down next to her and leaned over to delicately sniff his plate. "That's amazing already."
