WHO: Annie Winchester and Kim Jae-sun
WHAT: Their quasi-date
WHERE: Bond Street tube station to start
WARNINGS: Probably nothing.

Annie had been on her feet for literally eight hours straight, and she was fucking tired. Her hair was frizzed and her makeup was nonexistent at this point, and she was just thinking longingly of a chair and something appallingly alcoholic. She thudded down the stairs into the Bond Street station, each foot feeling leaden, all but zombie-walking down the hall.

She stopped, though, when she heard "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" wafting through the tunnel. Annie's hands flew over her mouth, and she mouthed oh, shit!, but she couldn't help much at this point. She couldn't very well run away, and she couldn't afford a cab. Hopefully he didn't run in terror when he saw her after a long, trying day; she hadn't looked like shit the last time they met.

He couldn't help but tear up a little when he sang that song - it was his second favorite song of all time - and he didn't notice anyone around due to playing with his eyes closed again. He usually did, not able to help it. It was partly that he got into his music too much, as well as part nerves. He wasn't entirely confident in his talents.

But when the song ended and he did open his eyes, he couldn't help but grin when he saw Annie standing there. "I was waiting to see you!"

Annie blushed, smiling. She'd come up when he'd had his eyes shut again, and she'd watched for a bit. His whole body moved with the instrument, and it really struck her just how happy he looked. But damn if that big smile wasn't cute as hell, on top of that. "Well, here I am, though I know I probably look like I stuck my finger in a light socket." If she didn't have dark circles under her eyes, she'd be astonished.

Jae-Sun put his guitar away and carried it, running his fingers through his hair. "I think you look absolutely gorgeous. Are you hungry? I promised you dinner, remember?"

Damn if she didn't blush to the roots of her hair. "You have incredibly low standards." Annie was only half joking. "I am hungry enough to eat half of London, honestly. Today was one of my final exams, so I've been on my feet since eight-thirty, and half that time was spent standing there listening to my classmates being critiqued before I got my grade." She chuckled, trying to take out her ponytail and redo it, so at least part of her would look put together.

He shook his head. "On the contrary." Taking his jacket from where he'd slung it over his bag, he moved to put it over her shoulders. He heard someone from behind them whistling, and noticed they were in chef's whites as well. "Do you know that rude man?"

Annie turned around, raising an eyebrow. She did know the guy; he was in her restaurant management classes and thought she was a teacher's pet. "Piss off, y'tosser." It belatedly occurred to her that Jae-sun might not be used to chef language, but she figured if he didn't know now, he'd find out soon enough.

It made Jae-sun laugh brightly, and he held up a hand to Annie to call her off for a moment. In that moment, the guy suddenly forgot all about seeing Annie, and was stricken with an urgent desire to use the restroom.

Grinning impishly, he turned back to his date and took her hand. "Shall we?"

She'd seen the suddenly blank look on the guy's face, and couldn't help being amused. "I could've handled him," Annie laughed, but really, it was all right. His thing was awfully handy. "Let's go. Did you have anyplace in mind? I'm a freaking chef, I'll try anything once, except parsnips, because I've tried them already and they're completely gross."

"Well, yes, but this way there's no violence, and all he does is go to the bathroom. And I don't know, there's a really nice barbecue place by my flat, would you like to go?" He squeezed her hand, glad that she let him hold it.

Annie laughed. "Okay, point, I'd have slapped him if he kept up his shit. And barbeque's fine, thanks. Korean or more Western style?" Either was fine, but just out of curiosity. And she was really, really okay with him holding her hand.

"Little bit of both." He closed his eyes and suddenly they appeared on a bustling streetcorner in Seoul, and he pointed to the restaurant he'd mentioned. "I come here often, my flat's nearby." He still held her hand.

Annie blinked and felt the portkey going. When she opened her eyes, she saw the street signs in a language that wasn't English, and had to laugh. "Okay, I so thought you meant a flat in London." She was a little uncomfortable, a skinny Caucasian girl in chef whites, standing in Seoul, but she'd deal with it. "Lead on ... you'll have to help me out, though; I only know one word in Korean and it is really, really impolite."

He laughed and wrapped his arm around her, shaking his head. "You sound fluent right now to anyone listening to you. Just so you know." He kissed her forehead, unable to help himself. She'd just looked so terribly confused, and it was adorable.

"Oh, good." Annie was about to tell the story about how she learnt her one rude word in Korean, but then he pressed his lips to her forehead and it was pretty much spontaneous tilt. She laughed, flushing deeply at the gesture, but she didn't exactly push him off. "You laughing at me?" She elbowed him just a little, hoping he understood she wasn't upset. "I'm not even dressed for dinner; don't let anyone laugh at me."

"Maybe a little." He grinned and helped put the jacket on her arms, reaching out to stroke her hair. "You're lovely, and nobody's going to laugh at you."

He escorted her into the restaurant with an arm around her waist, moving them to a small table in the back that had been essentially his since he'd arrived.

It was nice; quiet and seemingly well-run, with quiet chatter and the occasional ringing phone. Annie sat across from Jae-sun, smiling at the menu. She knew it was all in Korean, but to her, it looked like it had been printed in English. "I'm still opposed in principle, but I have to admit this is awfully handy." She still couldn't quite stop staring at his smile; it was lovely. It lit up his entire face. Though the samgyeopsal, a bacon dish, did catch her eye. "... I have a feeling I'm going to wind up sickeningly jealous of the pork cuts your chefs here get to work with."

"Probably," he smiled. He knew what he was going to get, mostly because he got the same thing every time, but he liked to watch her. "I could put it back into English for you, but it is handy. And don't worry, I won't ever do anything more extreme than this without your say so. That's just like lying. My father wants to meet you."

She could live with that - the language thing - because it was awfully pretty here. And she liked knowing what was in the food. But when he said his father wanted to meet her, Annie couldn't help her eyes going wide. "The angel?" It was mostly just the idea of meeting another angel that was kind of ... intimidating.

"He's technically a Fallen, so it's not really - well, it will be intimidating, but honestly, he'll just want to flirt with you." He blushed to himself and ducked his head. "My father is sort of ... the celestial bike."

Annie couldn't help it; she started laughing. "If that's true, the person he needs to meet is my father. I swear, before he married Mom he had some kind of ... sex record for sleeping his way across the States." It was maybe blunt, but oh well. It was true, whether Daddy wanted to admit it or not. She shook her head, trying to calm down the giggles; it was mostly because Jae-sun had looked horribly embarrassed and it was really adorable. She wanted to pet that pretty hair and tell him all would be well.

"Father doesn't even know how many children he has. I know I have two sisters here, but I don't know if there's any others." He chuckled and looked down. "I don't want to be in the room if they swap stories. But my father asked why I was smiling when I went to help him out yesterday, and I mentioned it was you." He smiled and squeezed her hand.

"Daddy only has the three of us, far as we all know. My twin, my older brother and me." Annie blushed when he said he'd talked about her specifically, though. "I mentioned to Dani - Danielle, my sister - that I had a date, but didn't say much else. Dani's the type of girl who gossips." She didn't want Dani planning her Goddamned wedding before she'd gone on a real date.

"Is there anything to gossip about? I was going to try to kiss you later, but that's it." He was very polite, but so was his father. Generally, it didn't stop either of them.

"Dani would parlay that into all manner of ... yeah." At this point, she was resigned to the fact she'd never stop blushing. Annie smiled. "I think I'd let you get away with that, though." She was about to say more when the waiter came over, smiling first at Jae-sun, then at her. She kind of expected that, though, and hoped that when she ordered the samgyeopsal, he would hear fluent Korean instead of her no-doubt-shitty English pronunciation.

"Well, perhaps later she can feel smug at being correct about all manner of yeah, but at this point it's a bit premature." He smiled when the waiter blinked, looking taken aback by the beautiful Caucasian woman speaking as fluently and naturally - and with a regional accent - as someone who'd lived there for years.

He grinned and ordered some haejangguk, having liked it the last time he got it, even though he wasn't hung over.
