Who: Corinth and Cal Leandros, and probably Zepar too!
What: Corinth is super-excited, Cal is....Cal.
Warnings: Probably not.

Corinth had dropped Anders back off at his hotel, and it was almost closing time when she reached the coffeeshop. She breezed past Cal as he turned the sign over, ignoring any glares that might be coming her way. She didn't really count as a customer, did she? "Hey, babe," She leaned in to kiss Cal.

"Brought this back!" she announced, bouncing over to the counter and holding up the mug she'd commandeered earlier. She'd washed it out and everything. It was probably safer that she just put the mug down, given all the frenetic energy she seemed to have. She couldn't stop grinning, and slid up onto the counter. "I had the most amazing night!" she declared.

He didn't glare, but he did line-face at the kiss, locking the door behind her and turning off the front lights, they'd already swept, so they didn't need them over there anyway.

"Yeah?" That was as much of a 'how did it go?' as she was going to get, really, Cal was already counting out the drawer.

She swung around, her legs hanging off the counter, bumping lightly into Cal as she swung them. "Total life-changing experience!" she said brightly. "Not mine, but Anders. It was amazing. He was sharing all this stuff, but then he started to get kinda paranoid, and I showed him my wings." She was talking really fast. "And he'd never heard of angels before, but.. The look on his face.. It was so cool."

Cal was the only person who had seen Corinth's wings before tonight, and he hadn't been impressed. He'd been dealing with the horror of her vagina, and all. Seeing the way Anders looked at her.. It was almost like a drug. "He just had this look of.. It's like what they talk about in the freaking Bible. I never expected to see that." Green skin and demon horns provoked a different reaction, usually. "He actually cried."

"Uh-huh." Cal? Yeah, still unimpressed. Sure, abstractly he could understand the reaction from someone who'd never seen wings before. But he'd worked with a couple of Peri for a while, and now Zepar, wings were nothing new to him.

And the first time he'd seen a pair on someone it hadn't been that big a whoop in the grand scheme.

"It was a religious experience!" she said, smacking his arm and sticking out her tongue at him. "Jerk." She'd been pretty moved when she first got to see her wings. She'd had to work harder than most to get them, and it had been a humbling sort of thing. "My wings are beautiful." Hmrph.

"Besides, it was more than just that. We were just connecting on this level that just.. I don't know. I felt like a real angel." Yeah, she'd satisfied people's needs before--mostly with sex when she was a demon--but that wasn't the same. As an angel, she liked seeing how happy it made people, and the looks on her patients' faces made her smile, but this was different. "He poured out his heart to me, and I was right there with him and.. I don't know, I knew what he needed to hear. I comforted him."

He just arched a brow at her, "I'm supposed to be impressed right now? I mean, just checking not saying I'm going to, but I could try, maybe."

The drawer was already counted and the bag zipped up, ready to go in the safe.

Corey pouted. "Maybe not impressed but.. happy for me? It was the first time I've really done angel-stuff. It was really cool. I improved somebody's life. He's going to be a different person now because of me. It's noteworthy, at least."

It was probably what some doctors felt like, too, saving people's lives. But since Corey worked with terminal patients, she didn't really see that side.

"Oh. Okay. I'm happy for you." Sort of, in his usual surly way.

"Well I'm impressed." That would be Zepar, emerging from the kitchen where he'd just finished loading the dishwasher so they'd have clean cups in the morning.

"Thanks, baby," she said, kissing the side of his head. It wasn't an outpouring of heartfelt sentiment, but Cal was trying, which actually said a lot.

"Zep!" she squealed, jumping down from the counter and bounding over to him to give him the biggest hug ever! "It was so amazing, Zep! I've never done anything like that." She squeezed him tightly, back to being over-excited about the whole thing.

Zepar smiled indulgently, and honestly, he was like that, giving her a quick hug back, patting her shoulder, "Easy kitten."

Cal had slunk off to the back room, presumably to put the cash bag in the safe, prompting Zepar to cock his head in the direction that he'd gone, "He's having a day."

Corinth held on a little longer than Zep, but eventually let go, dropping down from where she'd gone up on her tiptoes. "Sorry. It was just really awesome. I kinda just thought it was all going to be the same. My powers didn't change, or anything. I figured there wouldn't be much difference, but there is."

She tilted her head, glancing at the door Cal had disappeared behind. "What's up, do you know?"

"Just the way he gets sometimes." Zepar said with a shrug, giving the room a quick once-over, checking to make sure they hadn't missed any mugs on windowsills or the floor or any of the other places that customers tended to stash them instead of the bus bin.

Cal emerged from the back room, "Swept, bag's in the safe, you got the dishes started?" Zepar gave him a thumbs-up, "Done."

"Oh!" Hadn't she seen a full moon. Her poor boy and his mood swings. "Gotcha." Mm, maybe she could turn that into a good thing. She was running on empty, after all.

"Hey, hot stuff," she said when Cal reappeared, sidling up to him to nip at his ear. "Almost finished?"

That got an eyetwitch from Cal, but he nodded, "Yeah. Just have to do a spot check, make sure there aren't any dishes or lost and found laying around."

Zepar shook his head, "Done and done. Let's get the hell out of Dodge."

She reached for his hand, intertwining his fingers with his. "Come on, baby," she said, nuzzling his neck. "I'm running low on juice," she murmured. Her other hand went up to tangle her fingers in his hair. "Quickest way to recharge..." She let the thought linger there, knowing Cal was aware of how this worked.

She probably shouldn't get herself so worked up that they couldn't make it home. "My place?" she purred.

Zepar grinned, shaking his head at them and ushering them out, locking the door behind everyone.

Cal tilted his head up into her fingers, grumbling in the back of his throat, it wasn't really a growl, but it was verging on one, "Sure. Closer than mine." Which was his way of saying he was pretty sure they wouldn't get all the way to his place.

A grin pulled at Corey's lips when Cal grinned. "Mmm, like that." She pulled him along, walking backwards so she didn't have to untangle herself from him. She kissed him, not entirely sure they could even get back to her place.

"Mm, wait," she bent slightly, pulling off her high heels. "Take these," she said, handing them to Cal. She waggled an eyebrow then. "Race you." With that, she took off running. She was faster in this form, and probably stood a chance of outrunning him. Of course, they were in an urban setting, which would probably hamper them both.

Actually it wouldn't slow Cal down that much, this was more where he was used to running. He just grinned as she took off, giving her a moment or two before he took off after her.

Really he was just hoping that nobody saw them and called the cops, because the part of his mind that wasn't preoccupied with how much fun this was realized that it looked more than a little suspicious.

Corey didn't look like she needed anyone to call the cops. She was grinning and looked like she was laughing; having fun, in short. Most drunken 'Hey, chase me!'s were probably not nearly as fast as this one, though. Once she realized Cal wasn't holding back, she sped up.

Corey's place was only a few blocks from the coffee shop. When she reached the apartment door, she spun around to face her pursuer.

He was almost right on her then, and he smiled crookedly, brow arching as he held out her shoes, "Think these are yours."

She grinned, grabbing his shirt and pulling him to her, kissing him hungrily. After a moment she let go, taking the shoes. "I need to change."

She opened the door and slipped inside, heading to her closet. His lady-body was sturdier than her boy-body, and could take more abuse. Still, she and Cal would probably both be more comfortable with Cal gnawing on her man-shaped self.

"You gonna be naked when I get out there?" she asked, prepping the switch from inside the walk-in closet.

There was an actual growl at the kiss, leaning into it and replying in kind. He followed her inside, shrugging at the statement and smirking at the question: "What's it worth to you?"

"Well, there is a certain enjoyment to having you rip them off.." Corinth's voice was masculine again. Well, as masculine as it got. He came out in a tight t-shirt and jeans--totally generic and rippable.

"That chase count as foreplay, you think?" he asked, smirking.

He smiled, crooked and more than a little predatory, "It might." For what it was worth, Cal didn't need to chase anything at the moment. Well, maybe a little, but not as much as he usually did at times like this, so that was probably a good thing.

"Mm. Well, just to be on the safe side, we should probably have some more." Angels apparently prized endurance, since Corinth had to make things last a little longer now to get essence back.

Corinth nipped lightly at Cal's neck, hoping to get another growl.
