The man demanded to know who she was in a strange, otherworldly voice. Lois struggled against him, gripping the man's hand on her neck and trying to push herself upward or pry his hands off. "That's so not normal," she managed to choke out when she saw the guy's eyes flash red. Was it just her, or was he sort of glowing, too? She tried to swing her leg upward and kick at him, but she couldn't get enough leverage to do any damage. The edges of her vision were starting to go black.
Then an arrow hit him in the shoulder and he dropped her. She dropped to her knees, gasping for breath. "Oliver?" she asked, rubbing her throat. He was the one hero she knew that used crossbows. And really, since the Blur wasn't here, her ex was probably the most likely rescuer she had. Then she felt a jacket on her shoulders and she turned her head just enough to see the dwarf knocking out the senator. "Varric?" There was considerably more surprise behind that.
She reached forward, grabbing the envelope she had dropped earlier. "I think so.." She glanced around, scanning the room. They probably needed to make a quick exit. She stood up with some help from Varric. "I think I'm okay," she said. She could walk without feeling dizzy.
She wasn't totally ready for the group of bodyguards just outside the door, though.
