". . . it's. . . it's him. The. . . the imprint, Ty. I can feel him. I. . . can't you?" He slowly eased himself back down onto the bed, head resting on Ty's shoulder. The one thing he'd been missing before he could move on, that ever-present connection to 'reality'. . . it snapped back. He wasn't alone. And though it didn't connect him back to his own world, not even remotely. . . that secondary place, that city he'd seen every night in his dreams, the one thing keeping him sane. . .
It was why he'd been so eager to let Ty drain him, honestly. And why he'd been avoiding eating unless he was made to. Sleep had become a refuge for him in the dream world, because it kept him grounded, gave him the biggest anchor to his own stability. And now. . . he had it in the waking world. Even if he never said a word to Haitha, his boyfriend. . . just the feeling of him in his mind gave him the strength to take charge.
. . . I'm coming. I'll be there soon.
"Ty, I. . . I need to sleep. I. . . you know why. Are you staying the night with me. . ?"
