Who: Remy & Lulu
What: He's a secret sap.
Where: Sweden, then parts beyond.
Warnings: It's possible.

Remy had been back in this world for a couple months, and was often bouncing between Guildhall and Lulu's home in Sweden. He considered himself every sort of lucky that she cared for him, that she let him spend so much time with her, so when he suggested that they move in together so casually the day before, Remy surprised himself. For all his shortcomings, he actually was rather proud of himself when such a casual, yet completely life-altering suggestion rolled off his mind and onto the message.

But he figured this sort of thing couldn't go without acknowledgement. He spent a little longer getting to Lulu's to gather up a few things, including a pricey bottle of wine, a hot, picnic-packed meal, and a nice gingham blanket. Before taking that last foot of the journey from Guildhall to the inaptly named cabin, he gave Henn and Cassidy a call, asking if they could babysit the kids for the evening, and they said they could. He rode up to the cabin on his bike and killed the engine, picking up the picnic basket - blanket rolled up and tucked into its handles - before slipping up to the door and quietly moving in through it. To be promptly greeted by the large chocolate lab. He set the basket down and crouched to pet Chocomilk, scratching behind his ears and speaking in fluid, rapidfire Creole to the dog. "An' is bellechere here?" He'd hoped that the kids hadn't arrived to pick up the youngsters yet.

Lulu heard Chocomilk's happy barking before she heard Remy's voice. His voice never failed to make her heart skip a beat, and she grinned to herself. She was feeding Brier as she moved into the entryway. "I hope you're referring to this little one here. She's the beautiful one in this family, you know."

Soren and Sindre heard Remy as well, and the thunderous claps of bare toddler feet could be heard as they rumbled toward Remy. Soren squealed loudly, wordlessly, and Sindre managed an enthusiastic cry of "Eemy!" which Lulu assumed was close enough to Remy's name.

He grinned brightly and picked up both the boys, one in each arm, and gave them both big hugs. "Been good f'you mama, boug?" He asked Sor, and then smiled up a storm for Sindre, walking with them in his arms as he walked to Lulu, kissing her on the cheek, then kissing Brier's forehead. "T'ink bot' of you are lovely as a sunset, chere. Got a su'prise f'alla you," he mentioned in a tone of childish excitement, mostly to the boys. "Henn an' Cass'dy are gunna be comin' to pick y'up and take y'over t'ere for tonight! Remy needs to talk big-folk things wit' mama, dat okay wit' you?" He asked, winking at Lulu. "Got a whole lotta talkin' to do, might take aaaall night. Borin' stuff. Figger t'lot of you kiddos would prefer company of the big kids."

It was physically impossible to not smile around Remy LeBeau, especially not when he was hugging two little boys and getting kisses and hugs from them. She leaned against the wall, humming lightly to Brier as she nursed.

Soren and Sindre made excited noises as they heard they got to stay with Uncle Sor and Aunt Henny (as Soren was fond of calling them). "Candy?" His eyes were wide, blue, and filled with hope. Shaking her head, Lulu sighed. "Just a little bit. You'll have to stop when Aunt Henny says so, okay?" She moved to kiss Remy, amused when Sindre squirmed to join in.

"Aw, better save some'a t'at candy for Remy, Soren!" Joked Remy, rumpling his hair and setting the boys down, still crouching to look at them both with an ear-to-ear grin. "G'on an' get y'night bags, I come in an' help in a minute, neh?" He kissed Soren's cheek first and then Sindre's, sending them off to get their stuffed animals and pillows before standing and watching after them proudly. "Good kids, t'em, amazin'," he said, before slipping back up to Lulu, kissing her properly, careful of Brier, brushing his thumb over the baby's cheek. "Amazin' as t'ey mama. You got any milk bottled f'her? I got a s'prise f'you alone, chere."

Soren grinned and nodded hard, putting his hands on Remy's cheeks and kissing his forehead. After that, he took Sindre's hand, walking with him to their room so they could get packed up for the night. Lulu smiled fondly after them, sighing to herself. "I do my best, and they're a source of joy every day. Leaning against him, she smiled as Brier gurgled to herself. "I do, I try to keep a few bottles around just in case. Any chance I can get a hint in advance?" She moved to pack up Brier's diaper bag.

"Dinner an' a drive. Not in t'at order." He noticed that Brier had her fill, and gently took her from her mother, easing her over his shoulder, gently rubbing her back to get her to burp. "G'on and get dressed f'ridin', an' I'll get t'kiddos sorted," Remy said with a wink, and wandered off towards the boy's room, still with Brier in his arm. He was gentle yet energetic with the boys, explaining that they didn't need the entire contents of their bedroom to take with them, and asked them to pick two toys a piece, as he picked up their overnight bags, and went to set them at the door, just in time to see Cass' Audi S5 pull up behind his bike. He put a jacket on Brier, and made sure the boys only had a toy per each hand before helping them on with their coats as well.

"Know what, Bellechere? You couldn't'a had a better couple'a boys. Lucky you don't got any LeBeaus runnin' 'round, we impossible at t'best of times."

"All right." She smiled when he took the baby, knowing exactly how to hold her, knowing just how to burp her. "All right." She smiled at him as he walked away before moving to her bedroom to get dressed. Since they were going to be riding, she knew that she'd need to wear pants. She wiggled into a pair of leather pants and a corset to match, finding a light jacket to put on over top, just in case it got chilly.

When she walked out, she smiled and grabbed the diaperbag for Brier as she put on her heels. "Oh, I don't know. With how much the boys love you, it's only a matter of time before they are a couple of LeBeaus, wouldn't you say?"

"Lord willin'," Remy joked, answering the door just before Cass had a chance to knock, "G'evenin', homme, you got my t'anks f'sayin' yes to this at such late notice." He tried not to seem half as delighted at the prospect as he was that Lulu seemed to want that.

"No problem," Cass said, moving to pick up both of the overnight bags, "Hi guys! ready to have a great night?" He nodded his hellos to Lulu, grinning at how excited the boys were.

Lulu moved to greet Cass as well, kissing him on the cheek and smiling. "Thank you so much, Cassidy, we appreciate it." She handed over Brier's diaper bag as well, kneeling to kiss the boys goodbye. "I promise, I'll be over tomorrow to get you, and you can tell me what you did with Uncle Sor and Uncle Cass and Aunt Henny." She hugged the boys again before moving back to Remy. She didn't want to come off as too attached to her children, though sometimes she did worry about leaving them alone.

"Remy'll be comin' wit', too," added the Cajun with a lopsided, altogether mellow smile as he waved and watched Cass get the boys and baby situated in the car, utterly pleased, before waving a goodbye when Cass went down the long drive. He turned back to Lulu then and wrapped an arm around her. "You look like a dream," he murmured, looking her over with a smile. "You really wanna keep me 'round enough t'make t'boys wind up little urchins?" He chuckled.

She waved, smiling off at them. It did her heart good to know that Cass already had a carseat set up in the back. Once the car backed out she turned to Remy and wrapped her arms around his waist. "I look the same way as I usually do. Why would I not want you around? I love you, the boys love you. It makes sense, don't you think?"

"Gun' be a bad influence, me," Half-joked Remy. "An' I still haven't gotten over t'fact you even want me 'round at all."

He grabbed the picnic basket again and winked at her, "You got anywhere you ever wanted to go, but never been yet? Figger we can eat most anywhere you wanna."

"You're a wonderful influence. The boys are never so happy as when you're here, and Brier is comfortable with you." She couldn't help but smile lopsidedly at him, shaking her head. "I find it very hard to believe that you don't have enough self esteem to know how important you are to me."

Thinking to herself, she cocked her head in thought. "I'd like to go where we'll be living soon. I've not seen enough of New Orleans, though I'd like to."

"Oh, got plenty'a self esteem. Just still got it in my head you outta my league, Lu." He winked at her before snogging her properly. "S'go t'en, chere. Got a great place you gun' like a lot. Dis place outta t'City by a way, jus' sout' of t'bayou. Not too far away from Guildhall, t'be honest. We call Guildhall in New Orleans, but it's actually in Michoud, jus' nort'-east. Still in t'same parish, t'ough." He led the way to the bike, sticking the basket back on the back of the bike, in the larger storage compartment, before straddling the bike, waiting for Lulu to get comfortable.

"You gun' like it. After all you tell me about Spira, pretty sure s'somet'in' like it." That said, he settled down, gunned the engine, and started off, as at ease with riding with her behind him as he was alone.

Frankly, the only problem he could possibly foresee is the fact that there probably would be trouble finding somewhere dry to have a decent dinner.

"You're out of my league, Remy, but I don't care. I'm selfish, and if you've got it in your mind to fancy me, I won't argue." She followed him to the bike and smiled. Like a lot of times when he spoke, she didn't understand everything he said - she still didn't know what a parish was - but listening to him talk was a treat that she planned on enjoying as frequently as possible.

Wrapping her arms around him, she pressed her cheek to his back and closed her eyes. She nuzzled closer to him, and bit her lip when she caught a little bit of his smell. "I'm sure it will be lovely."

He honestly couldn't help but laugh when she said he was out of her league. He was always the goofy street urchin he'd grown up to be in his mind, never once considering that he'd grown up and out of that ages ago. Once they reached the portkey, he tapped it quickly with his foot, barely slowing down, because the next place they were was on the highway that separated the main city from Michoud, headed north, towards the lake. He turned off east about a mile down the highway, and sped down the road until he got to the main road into the bayou, but within five minutes, he found the off-road to the drier parts of the park, and once there, he parked. The cypress trees were old and heavy with cudzu, and a fine view of the bayou and all the blooming spring swamp flowers. It was ridiculously green, and although it wasn't particularly as tropical in flavor, it was definitely like its own little world.

"Should be a dry patch 'round here somewhere."

When they went through the portkey, she opened her eyes and smiled. It was lovely there; it wasn't entirely like Spira in that it was more swampy than her tropical homeland. But it took her breath away, and she almost felt like she was home. It smelled lovely, and the heat and humidity made her skin feel warm and melted in a way that was familiar. "You're from here? That's not a surprise, this place is so fertile and sensuous."

"Grew up 'round Metarie, Michoud an' t'City, me. 'fore I was picked up by Jean Luc, lived in t'French Quarter. We go t'ere sometime soon, promise." That said, he pulled the picnic basket out and held the wine with his free hand, leading the way down a wooden bridge to a small island in the water. The wildlife preserve wasn't such a bad place, he figured, to show that even in the middle of civilization, there was still wild things, places that evoked a time and place before humans came to take over.

Once he found a dry enough place to set down the blanket, he unfolded it with a quick flick of his wrists, setting it down, and then set the basket in the center, flopping down across one end like a comfortable housecat. "You wasn't jokin' when you said you wanted to live 'round here, I hope. Been gettin' my hopes up all day. Kids'd love it, got a lot of history to grow up in, got a lot of nature to take in an' a lot of city to explore."

In the basket, there was a baguette of fresh French bread and soft, spreadable cheese for atop it, deli-sliced roast beef which would go well with the bread and cheese, and red grapes and strawberries. He also had packed two wine glasses, two small plates, and a large candle which he brought out first just to light it and set it between them so they wouldn't be caught in the failing light of day.

He filled the glasses as he spoke, "You flatter me wit' t'very notion, chere. Sharin' your life, your family wit' me. Ain't nowhere near outta your league, Lulu. Jus' a simple T'ief, me."

It seemed only natural that this sort of place had given birth to Remy. Being there put his language into perspective as well - beautiful, languid, warm. She walked with him, steady on the grass in her sky high heels. Once she'd settled down near him, her eyes lit up as she spotted a large white bird walking in some of the damper land near them.

"Of course I wasn't joking. I'm not a joking sort. I meant it when I said I want the kids and I to live with you, and I meant it when I said I wanted us all to live here. You love it, and I know that the boys have enjoyed the times they've visited Guildhall." She'd tied her hair back before they'd left Sweden because of the bike ride. Now that they were still, she took it down, letting the wind pull at the strands.

She accepted a glass of wine and shook her head. "We'll have to agree to disagree on things like this, Remy. What matters is that we agree that we care about each other."

He grinned sheepishly and ducked his head as he broke the bread - who the hell used a knife to cut French bread? - and spread some cheese on it, topping it with a delicate layer of beef before handing it to her, "Now you know I love you, chere, an' t'boys an' Brier, but to be settlin' down in my own home 'gain just seems... truly a dream. Been run out of t'parish when I kill Bella's brot'er, never could get it outta my blood, however much I wanted. An' I want t'at to pass down easy to you'n yours. S'a city wort' fallin' in love wit', never felt more at ease t'an when I'm here." He started on making a piece of bread for himself.

"Ch't," he interjected a moment later, pointing off towards the bank of the water, "Heh, down t'ere, we got us a possum. Prolly smells t'beef."

She watched as he assembled their lunch, thanking him as she started to nibble. "So you've never lived here since? Living somewhere your whole life and then having to leave is painful. It's like a lover you never quite get over." She moved closer to him so she could lean against him. She felt that way about Besaid. She'd always missed it while she travelled, and still missed it from time to time even then, except for her there was no way to even visit.

Possum was a new word for her. She sat up a little, looking off to him and grinning. "He's adorable. Let me guess, I shouldn't feed him? None of the wild animals here seem to be things I can pet." As fearsome as people found her, nobody seemed to expect that she had a deep affection for animals, both stuffed and live.

"Non, possum's ain't all t'at nice. Disease-spreadin', bitey nasty t'ings, t'em." He wrapped an arm around her as he nibbled his own piece of bread. "Was banished f'a decade, took me 'til 30 'til I even came back f'a visit. Came 'round more an' more after t'at, t'ough, an' as you can tell, I ain't plannin' on abandonin' my first love in t'is world, just 'cause I found an even more mysterious, lovely lady." He pressed a quick kiss to her cheek. "An' f'all it's wort', Lu, you way less forgettable."

High praise, coming from Remy.

"Oh, really?" She waved her fingertips, sending a tiny electric bolt through the air, crashing just over the possum's head. It squealed and ran away, frightened. With that done, she burrowed closer to Remy and continued to eat. "You shouldn't have to leave your home for anything, least of all me. If I do anything for you, I'm glad I can help bring you back to her." Because the city was so obviously female, even Lulu could see it. "Does it always smell so nice?"

"Nicer come autumn," Remy said with a tilt of his head and a smile, "Got t'at beddin' down f'winter scent to it. Don't get snow 'round here much, had it once or twice, if I recall, but never nothin' t'at lasts more'n an overnight. She'll be y'lady too, if you allow it. 'Course, I don't know if you swing t'at way," he teased, popping the rest of his bite of bread into his mouth, amused.

"I'm glad that it doesn't get too cold. Don't tell Soren, since he loves it so, but I can't stand snow. I'm too much of a reptile, I think. I can't function if it's not warm, my body doesn't start working." She idly licked a bit of cheese off of her finger and smirked at him. "I have a few times in the past, though I doubt that it will be as literal with her."

She smiled at him, feeling almost shy. He was still a bit intimidating, even though she knew he cared about her. "It'll be nice for you, not having to go so far to get to Guildhall."
