WHO: Lilo and the Tenth Doctor, with a bit of Gabriel
WHAT: (Re)-meeting.
WHERE: A random sidewalk on the Vegas Strip.
WARNINGS: Highly doubtful.

Ten was doing his best to look inconspicuous and unconcerned about life, if one could be said to look inconspicuous while wearing a long brown overcoat in stifling heat. Still, he was doing his best; his hands were in his pockets, he looked up every so often at the wild monuments adorning the thoroughfare, and nobody would ever have guessed how hard his mind was racing.

Had he been there long enough to save Wilfred? Had the Time Lords gone back into the Time War? What exactly had happened, and why had he popped to this place instead of regenerating? The radiation had to have killed him. Was this some sort of Heaven, like the humans had always hypothesized? He needed answers, but he couldn't get them now. He had his screwdriver, at least, but then again, what did that even mean? Had he ever given it to River Song?

He kept walking, his pace increased. Finding the TARDIS would ease his mind as well. Let that be job one.

	Ten sighed. "Ah. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." He always felt, somehow, like loss was avoidable, or fixable. Whether that was true or not. Still, he tried at least to be reasonably upbeat. "That'd be lovely, actually. Or tea." Blessed tea. Everyday ordinary wonderful tea. (Reply to this)

	"It's fine, she was only three or four months along." She squeezed his hand, dismissing the topic with her hand gesture. Moving into the little cafe, she sniffed the air deeply - and laughed as her stomach growled. "I'm hungry, apparently! You should eat too, you know, I'm sure you have a high metabolism or something." 	"I rather like Earth food, but tea is the best." Well, he did have a British accent, or so he had been told. Ten followed Lilo into the place, and he couldn't help but smile at the sheer ordinariness of the place. Maybe he could at least do a bit of good here, if he was stuck? (Reply to this)

	"You're so British. Well. Gallifreyish." She wrinkled her nose before giggling, sitting down at a table and smiling at the waitress. "Two teas, please! 	Ten chuckled. "And what's a Hortensia when it's at home, then? Very grand name for a dog or a cat." He meant it; animals needed to feel important, as well. (Reply to this)

	"Hortensia is a piglet, Dennis is my puppy, and Danger is my cat." She smiled and grabbed her phone, finding the picture of the three of them cuddled up in a pile so she could show it to the Doctor. "You're going to be a great animal uncle." (Reply to this)

	"A piglet!" Ten laughed, shaking his head. "Is that a common pet, then?" He'd never heard of anyone having a pet pig before, unless on a farm. "I'm not been at all sure whether this is the earth I remember or not. I wish I could be certain." (Reply to this)

	He blinked. "A film about you? What about?" Stitch, probably; he doubted they would ever make a film about an extraordinarily bright child all on her own. "And thank you, I've no problem with geeks, I just don't ..." He sighed. "When everyone knows me, it usually means crises are afoot." (Reply to this)

	"When Stitch came to meet me." She chewed on her lower lip thoughtfully, and tried not to think about the film, her birth parents, or Stitch. The tea's arrival was a welcome intrusion. But crises? "Well, sometimes things happen here, but they pretty much resolve themselves quickly. A couple of weeks ago there were monsters." (Reply to this)

	"People can't come and go of their own choosing to my knowledge. But sometimes they disappear. It's what happened to Phineas, but he came back. He doesn't know how or why it happened, either." She was very quiet; the subject obviously pained her. (Reply to this)

	Lilo's eyes filled with happy tears, and she wrapped her arms around him tightly. "I'm so glad you're here. I still have to teach you how to surf!" Sniffling a little, she leaned back. 	Ten couldn't help a faint whuffing noise as she grabbed him. "Get off me, get off me!" She was about to upset the tea, and he just wasn't ... fond of hugs. But he smiled, glad she was happy. He tried to phrase his next statement tactfully. "I'd be glad to meet your family. But I may not be here long. If I can find the TARDIS." (Reply to this)

	"Oh, you big baby." She ruffled his already mussed hair before leaning back, trying not to look too sad on his behalf. She was pretty sure that he wasn't going anywhere, and she hoped it wouldn't hurt him too much when his TARDIS was nowhere to be found. (Reply to this)
