He heard her yelp and was over instantly. He took one look at the creature and summoned his powers, casting a flame of holy light that seemed to fill the entire alley. He heard the creature howl - or at least he hoped belatedly it was the creature - but he couldn't see it. His eyes, he knew, were bright white, to match his wings. Heaven help anything that tried to harm Lilo.
