WHAT: Michael brings home his found ball of fluff.
WHERE: The Mexico City flat
WARNINGS: The usual potty mouths.

She wasn't entirely pleased at the idea of a dog in her brand new home, but she'd seen the picture. Maybe, just maybe, they'd get a well behaved one. But if they got a well behaved one, then it probably already belonged to someone. Shit.

She just did her best, putting away some of the breakables she'd set out. It made the wall look naked, and she made a face, but she'd deal for now. Michael would be by any minute.

	Michael came inside, hands wrapped around his torso. The puppy was zipped up in his leather jacket, snoring softly. "Kabie? Baby?" He smiled, shutting the door behind him, pleased with himself. He really hoped that Kabie would fall for the puppy like he had. (Reply to this)

	He grinned and held his waist with one hand, unzipping his jacket with the other. The puppy snorted softly, its black fur sticking up at all ends, peeking out from under its red sweater. "Meet Samson." He smiled and shook his head, looking down at the dog. He was utterly smitten, and it showed. (Reply to this)

	She was about to mock him for putting the dog in a sweater, but then she saw its little sleeping face. Aw, shit. "Oh my God. Can I hold him?" She was a little nervous, but it was so small and cute and relatively helpless. The last time she'd felt like this was when her son had been born. (Reply to this)

	"Of course. He has to wear sweaters, he only wears four pounds, and that's as big as he's gonna get." He handed her the tiny sleeping body, gentle as a lamb. He really was thrilled. (Reply to this)

	"Yup, you're looking at a one year old dog, at least that's the vet's best guess." He smiled and wrapped an arm around Kabie's waist, beaming at how she looked down at the animal. "Well, it's not always warm here, and if we have a fan or something, he'll get a chill. Not much in the way of bulk." (Reply to this)

"It's usually warm here, but yeah, I guess if you have to have a dog that wears a freakin' sweater." She leaned against him, amused in spite of herself. "It's like you brought home a baby. Look at him." The dog was so tiny, and so helpless. "Don't let me turn into one of those women with the dog in a big handbag. Please!" Kabe laughed softly as the dog snuffled and stirred a little.

	Kabe jumped when the dog woke up quickly, but relaxed soon enough. "Hey, hey." He wiggled and Kabe held him out to MIchael. "I think he wants you." Samson whined, and Kabe looked uncomfortable. "I'm sorry, little guy, I don't know what you want." (Reply to this)

	Mike took the dog and set it down onto the ground. He proceeded to run up to a slipper and growl viciously at it before trying to hump it. "Yep. That's my boy. Just got his balls cut off, and he's humpin' things." He smiled at Kabie, kissing her gently. "You okay?" (Reply to this)

Kabe laughed hard when the dog started to hump her slipper, though she did make a note to get new ones. It helped the weird feeling a little, honestly. "Mm. Yeah, I'm okay. Just a little out of my depth. The last time I had something so small and sweet around was when Asael was born. My son." She didn't think she'd ever actually told Michael her husband's name, or her son's. She just hadn't really felt the need. "It was kind of deja vu, holding him like a baby." She smiled a little.

	"I'm sorry." He squeezed her hand. If he could have, he would have let her be able to be with them again. He wasn't a good replacement, he wasn't even close. But he tried to make her happy. Samson was now trying to burrow into the slipper, yawning and falling asleep again. (Reply to this)

	She laughed at that. "A few days? Jeez, dedicated little thing. I'd have given up after a couple hours. Said fine, if the big galoot wasn't going to fall for my cute act, I'd try an old lady or something." She batted her eyelashes exaggeratedly, hoping he'd smile. She always liked it. 	"You archs and your overcompensation." Kabe smiled a little. Of all people, she'd let him see her wings, though she was embarrassed about them. She slowly let hers out; they were shorter - only two tiers - and she knew there were black spots - at least three big ones. He wouldn't judge her, though. 	He shook his head, moving over to run his fingers lightly over hers. "They're clean." The black spots likely wouldn't come out, but he didn't want her to be so damn self-conscious. Leaning over, he ran his lips over one of the spots, sighing. (Reply to this)

It frankly tickled a little, but she did her best not to laugh; it was kind of sweet that he'd get up close to them. It was strangely intimate, somehow, feeling her feathers ruffle against his big hand. "They're not sooty, you mean? The last time I got 'em brushed must have been a hell of a job." She smiled; she knew the spots were there, but if she wasn't tracking soot all over her new floor, so much the better.

It felt kind of like a family, like how he thought she must have felt about her husband and child, and he bit his lip. She didn't feel that way about him. He had to choke it back. (Reply to this)

She gave him a Look that said this wasn't over, but dropped it for now. "He's already toilet trained? That makes me worry, though, that he belonged to somebody." They wouldn't exactly find their dog in Mexico City, though. Kabe shrugged. "He can totally stay here when you're here. I'll miss him right along with you when you're not around." She chuckled, going over to sit next to him on the couch.
