Entry tags:harmony johnson, jaina solo, what if?

Who: Harmony Johnson and Jaina Solo.
What: Dark Side!Jaina and Harmy watching over the kids.
When: Backdated to the what if? plot.
Where: Jaina's house.
Warnings: Probably yelling!

Harmony rode her bike over to Jaina's to watch the twins as was her usual weekday habit. It gave her time to hang out with Jaina once the other woman got home - which Harmony liked - and she also liked the twins.

But Jaina wasn't due home for a while yet, but for some reason there was skittering in the garage. Parking her bike, she hopped off and walked over. "Hey, anyone home?"

The twins were whimpering in the corner if the garage. Jaina was dressed in black, a hood pulled over her head. Her lightsaber was lit and she was brandishing it as she advanced on the children. "You aren't real," she told them, her fear and confusion expressed as anger. Her children had been gone for years. She had lit the funeral pyres herself. These were imposters.

Harmy moved closer, eyes going wide as she saw Jaina with her lightsaber turned on. She was good at being silent, and years of survival instincts came into play when she reached down to grab the knife she always (even at school, which she was sure was bad, but whatever) kept in her boot. She turned her head to make eye contact with the twins before throwing the blade at Jaina, and motioning for the kids to hurry and get onto her bike.

Jaina grunted as the knife landed in the back of her leg. She stumbled forward, her knee threatening to give out. The twins ran toward Harmony's bike, reaching up for a boost.

Jaina turned her head, hate flashing in her eyes. "You have no part in this," she told Harmony. She stretched out a hand then closed her fingers, attempting to Force choke the other woman.

Jaina hadn't ever been a huge Star Wars fan, but her brothers had been. She helped the kids up on the bike, cursing under her breath that she couldn't get helmets on them. While helping the second of the twins onto the bike, she could feel her throat closing off.

There was no time to panic. She staggered, grabbing the kids off of the motorcycle and motioning for them to run down the street. There was a woman who was older and had a number of cats. She was their emergency contact, in the event there was a fire or something happened to Harmony while she was sitting.

Turning back to Jaina as the kids ran away, Harmony narrowed her eyes as she fell to her knees. She hated whatever was happening, hated that this place could drive people mad.

The children were leaving, and they didn't seem worth chasing. She would be satisfied with them not being underfoot. For now, she had to figure out what was going on. She had destroyed this garage years ago.

Jaina yanked the knife from her leg, tossing it aside. She dropped the hold on Harmony and used the Force to retrieve her lightsaber. She glowered at Harmony for a moment before storming off toward the house.

Breathing hard, Harmony reflexively rubbed at her neck. "Jaina, stop this. I don't know what's going on with you, but you don't have to surrender to it. You're stronger than this." She turned her head to look back at the kids, figuring she'd try to talk some sense into her before going to grab them and take them to her apartment.

Well, at least she'd just cleaned.

Jaina paused, turning back to Harmony. The area around her eyes was dark, and small veins stood out against her pale skin. She was long gone. A dark smirk twitched at one corner of her lips, the same lopsided smile she'd inherited from her father. "I am stronger now than I've ever been."

To demonstrate, she reached out with the Force and lifted a half-finished car and flung it at Harmony. "You won't trick me with the children. I am past love."

She didn't really want to hurt Jaina; she'd heard from her brother that weird stuff happened here all the time, and it was likely that Jaina would be fine later.

Of course, she'd think about all of that later. At the time, she was breathing hard, trying to dodge a mostly-finished car. She mostly-succeeded, rolling away from it and wincing when it partly landed on her. She grunted in pain when it landed hard on her leg, crying out as she wrenched leg away. Standing on it hurt like hell, but she had to make it to the kids. She got onto her bike, speeding away, ignoring the throbbing and the road rash.
