"I'm sorry," she apologized immediately, because it seemed that all she ever did was apologize to Damon for hurting him or betraying a trust. "Damon, I didn't mean... I just thought..." Except she hadn't thought, not really. Not about how much Damon had truly loved Katherine and been denied it for years, how he could take things the wrong way, how sometimes there was the glimmer of humanity in him that she'd always been able to see and always wondered if that was the person he'd been before Katherine and years had changed and hardened him.
She touched his face gently, and then held his hand, pulling him with her to his bed before she sat down on it. "I want you, Damon." That much was easy to admit to him, and it probably was the part he hated to hear. It was something that so many girls had probably said to him before - Caroline included.
Elena wanted to take away all that pain and anger, but she didn't want to lie either. And telling him that she loved him right then...? Well, he would know it was a lie and he'd probably tell her to just go home.
"Please. I'm sorry, Damon, please just... show me, then. Show me how much you love me." She smirked at him and added, "Show me what you think I've been missing."
