WHO: Kabe and Petit
WHAT: Kabe's portkey-hopping
WHERE: The Guildhall
WARNINGS: Maybe language.

Kabe had taken her third portkey of the afternoon and wound up in what she assumed was New Orleans. It felt like Louisiana again, and that frankly made her fucking uncomfortable. Her first instinct was to look around for the way out, but there was a building up ahead. She edged closer to it, wondering if there was another portkey to another place. "Hello?"

Somehow she'd managed to hop the Guildhall's designated portkey. Right at that particular moment, Petit was in the front yard with Henri, they were playing a variation on the seed-cup game, with crackers and large plastic dixie cups.

Petit blinked up at the greeting, smiling, "Hi, you, uh, look a little lost."

Kokabiel laughed, shaking her head. "Yeah. Um, sorry. I was in Rio, and hopped the nearest portkey to see where it led, and apparently it leads here." The woman didn't look too pissed, thankfully. "Is this a home? I don't mean to intrude."

"Yeah, it is. Sort of. It's a home and then some. I'm Petit, where were you trying to go? We've got a couple outgoing portkeys in the foyer, and there's more in town, we're not too far from there, really, even though it looks like it."

"Shit. Er. Crap. I'm sorry." Kabe sighed. "I really was just portkey-hopping. I haven't seen much of the world. And I don't know, you might want to get down to Rio and see if you can't fix the portkey down there so it doesn't point here?" It occurred to her that she ought to at least give her name. Damnit. "I'm Kokabiel, by the way. I'm sorry, honestly, I was locked up here and I swear the air is screwing with my head."

"Well there's one down there that's supposed to point here, we do a lot of ... international business, so to speak." And then her brow creased, "Oh, well in that case we really should get you on your way, c'mon inside." The cups were stacked and picked up along with both Henry and the box of crackers, heading into the guildhall.

They should maybe make it less accessible, Kabe figured, but she walked after the woman into the house anyway, feeling stupid. "I really didn't mean to intrude. I spent God knows how long stuck in Metairie, just up the bayou, and then since I got to this world ... thing ..." She paused, not sure of her wording. "I've been living in Japan with my brother, but I just figure I ought to see places." Hell, she was a reaper now. It'd do her good to know her way around.

"Oh don't worry about it, we get all kinds here and at all hours, we're used to it." A nod followed, "And nothing wrong with getting to see the world a little. We've got outgoing connections to London, Paris, New York and Chicago, where would you like to go?"

She had to think a minute. "I never saw Paris before. Well, never saw any of 'em before, but I've got friends in London I don't want to see right now." Kabe mustered a smile, feeling slightly less stupid. "Do people take the wrong portkey a lot, M'am?" For a second her tongue slipped into the lazy Louisiana pronunciation of the word, and it made her twitch a little. She spoke a hundred languages, but she didn't want to go back to speaking brain-dead hick!

"Oh, God, just Petit, please, 'ma'am' makes me feel ancient." She was laughing, however, "And we really should get the damn thing moved, but we'd have to change the registry and that's just a whole lot of red tape I don't want to deal with for something that only happens every few months or so, if that." She waved a hand then, leading the other woman down the hall, "Paris is in the back parlor, c'mon."

"Petit. That's a nice name. I feel pretty ancient myself, though my cousins are all older than me by light years." Quite literally, if she did her math right. Kabe chuckled. "Tell you the truth, I can teleport myself, but it wipes me out. I prefer the portkeys; it's easier on my energy." Transporting from Japan to Zepar's place, or to meet Uzza somewhere, she'd almost fallen asleep from the exhaustion.

There was a bright grin, nodding, "I usually walk most places." A shrug, "I go by way of a sort of pocket dimension, things here take up less space there, it's ... kind of confusing to try and explain. But yeah, portkeys are a boon and a blessing both."

Kabe raised an eyebrow, curious. "If I'm being nosy just tell me and I'll shut up, but are you ... you're not immortal, are you?" It would amuse her if this lady was one of them, or otherwise Not Human. She kept running into them.

She shook her head, "Not nosy, pretty normal question around these parts, and no, I'm not. Not in the traditional sense, anyway." A smile, switching Henry to her other hip, "I'm a lot of other things though, some of which don't make a lot of sense."
