Who: Mephisto & April
Where: some art museum in London
What: totally not a date except it kind of is!
When: Wednesday.
Warnings: human!Meph is oddly less prone to strange fits of growling? Iunno. TBD.

Mephisto had called April up over the phone earlier that day, while tending shop at Nemo's. He told her that the process had worked and he was, indeed, quite human, or at least very good at pretending to be one, given his two days of settling in. He asked if she was still free to go to the museum that day, and if she'd like to meet him there. He didn't want her to feel obligated to meet up with him, and he certainly didn't want to ride the rails or take a cab - the thought of it gave him chills. So once they set a time to meet up, he eagerly awaited closing time.

He closed early, anyway, mostly because he had done the math, and at the rate of how he walked, it would take him X amount of minutes to get from Nemo's to the museum, and he wanted at least a couple hours to spend looking over the paintings, not to mention a reasonable amount of time to get home before his body decided it was going to be exhausted. He walked to the museum, still amused that he didn't garner any unwarranted attention from passers-by, and arrived precisely on time. Mephisto stood at the entrance to the building, leaned against the wall, arms over his chest.

There was no difference in how he looked, save for two very significant things -- He had dark blue eyes, and his nails were very, very human. He was actually dressed rather casually in comparison to how she saw him before - merely a long sleeved shirt and a pair of black slacks over his intricate leather boots.

April was running a little bit late, having mis-judged the time it would take her to get from the portkey location to the museum, and she came trotting up to Mephisto flushed and a little windblown. She was out of her usual uniform of jeans and a t-shirt, wearing instead a sort of patchwork skirt, boots, and a blouse.

Going to museums, after all, was something that a girl should dress up for. ...Well, not really, but it gave her a pretty good excuse.

"Sorry I'm late," she said with a bright smile as she gave Mephisto a once-over. "You look really nice! Dark blue does suit you."

He stood up when he saw her walking up, and took her hands into his, pressing a kiss to the back of her fingers on one hand. "Don't worry, I wasn't waiting long." He smiled just slightly at her compliment, bowing his head in lieu of thanks. "You look beautiful. That's a very interesting skirt." He meant it literally; the skirt was bold but not, in his opinion, annoying to look at. He stepped away and held the door for her, paying their way inside. He spent a moment looking at their myriad of choices - there were corridors that led to gallery after gallery. "The lady should choose." He said finally. He was still rather overwhelmed with the fact that he could take in the art which he'd spent so long unable to enjoy.

April smiled widely and turned a little pink, both at the kiss and the compliment. "Thank you."

She pondered the corridors for a moment. There were plenty of appealing options in any of the various galleries, and she really wasn't very good at being decisive when she would gladly just look at everything. Finally, giving up on any pretence of not being rather silly, she closed her eyes, briefly turned in circles, and pointed in a random direction.

"That one," she stated, opening her eyes to verify she was actually pointing at a corridor that led to actual art. She was, thankfully.

Her twirling made him chuckle, shaking his head as he put his hand out to hold one of hers as she did, helping her twirl if she so desired, before nodding, "A wonderful choice." He waited to make sure she'd gained her bearings a little more before starting off in that direction, not really stopping at every picture or sculpture, but found what held his attention the most. At the very first, his attention was grabbed by a large oil painting of a waterfall, so exquisitely rendered that he could almost hear the roar of the water and feel the spray.

Mephisto was quiet as he whispered to her, leaning down to bring his lips closer to her to minimize the need for volume. "It's amazing how artists are able to render something the way they perceive it, so that you can be allowed to see into their mind for this brief glimpse. It makes me feel blessed."
