Who: Mephistopheles and Calliope
What: Duder got bored living in the suburbs of Peoria
Where: Somewhere in the Sahara
When: Sunday night
Warnings: Mild swearing.

Calliope had been his companion since his arrival to this world, and it was hard for Mephisto to admit to himself that while he lusted for her, and felt an inkling of more than simple desire, that he could possibly love a human. Especially one so close to what Helena was. He'd fallen for the pretty little thing that was Ariel's wife so long ago, but he left it at that. It was the past. And like what Marguerite was to the alchemist, Calliope was nothing more but a strange shadow of Helena to Mephistopheles. However, as opposed to Helena, Calliope was all his. He could do with her all that he wished, if he wished to, but for now, she was no more than a companion. One who he would defend if necessary, and would love if he'd let himself.

But that was only one thing irking the demon, lately. Another was his awful little home that he'd come into in his arrival, just outside of Peoria, Illinois. It was a two storey home with an awfully cheery little countenance to it. Not that the blind demon minded the decor, it just didn't suit him, so it was time to move on.

Earlier that day, he'd made some deals with some politicians, and that fed his energy, along with the desperation of the poor Wartooth girl, and Ariel's constant seeping discontent, and millions upon millions of others suffering. He took Calliope along with him only after he'd gathered all the energy that he could, and whisked her away to the middle of a vast desert, one that seemingly had no end. There was nothing even remotely civilized in sight. He walked down the dune, arms behind his back, and it seemed as if he barely touched the sand while he made his way down to a solid rocky plateau, beckoning Calliope to follow with a very subtle gesture.
