WHO: Ezio and Ronia
WHAT: Just hanging out.
WHERE: Ezio's rooms in London
WARNINGS: Quite probable.

Ezio waited in the main room of the Guildhall, hoping Ronia was in. It had been a long time, and perhaps he ought to have called, but he preferred the surprise approach. He'd finally taken delivery of a beautiful sword, of Arab make, dating from the time of his famous ancestor. It was not the Sword of Altair, but it was an artifact he was excited to see and have seen.

Eventually, someone passed by and he asked if Ronia was at the hall. She was, and he bounded upstairs with a smile.

She had, in fact, just come upstairs from shadow-boxing in the basement, not with actual Shadows, aside from Sparky who was cheering her on, she blinked when one of the gofers told her she had a visitor, brow furrowing, she wasn't expecting anyone, but it wouldn't be the first time she'd gotten a promoter or someone who wanted to be her manager.

She was pleasantly surprised to find that neither of these was the case, grinning when she saw who it was, "Well hello there."

Ezio smiled, stepping into the room. "How are you, magnifica?" He took her hand and kissed it, idly letting his thumb rub over her knuckles. "I hope I am not interrupting anything?"

"Not interrupting anything that won't keep." She said, smiling as she always did at the manners, "Was just finishing up, actually." She arched both brows, the very picture of concern, "What brings you by?"

"The fact that it has been an age since I've seen you?" He hoped she didn't think he was pouting; he was just stating a fact. "I just took delivery of something I'd very much like to show you, besides. Your professional expertise might be intrigued." He smiled.

Her brows arched again, just that was enough to catch her interest, "Oh really? Well then I should put on something a little more presentable. I'll be right back." She said, rocking up on tiptoe to brush a kiss against his cheek before she vanished down the hall.

She returned within minutes, having traded her stretchy workout pants for a pair of jeans. She was working on letting her hair down from the series of clips she'd held it back with for her practice, "There, better."

Ezio smiled. "As far as I know, we're only off to my rooms. Unless you had something else planned." He raised an eyebrow, but would be enough of a gentleman - for now - to not make the lewd comment.

She grinned again, "Well that sort of plan is for me to know, and you to, well, you know." She bumped him with a shoulder, "So what are we waiting for?"

"Nothing, I suppose." He held the door for her, heading down the stairs and out toward the portkey. "What have you been up to? More tournaments?" He'd tried to get to one or two, but he'd quickly found that it was better for his nerves to avoid it. It was simple human emotion; he loved her, after all.

She shook her head as she padded down the stairs, pulling out a pair of sunglasses once they were outside, nose wrinkling as she put them on, "No, just practice, next tourney isn't until August, and I intend to be in top form for it."

There was her usual grimace-and-shudder upon being delivered at the other end of the portkey journey, shaking her head, "Still not used to that."

"Perhaps one day we can take one of those flying machines." The idea scared Ezio, he wouldn't lie, but trying something new would at least be fun. If he survived it.

For now, he steered her up the familiar London street, an arm wrapped around her waist. Just for support, of course. "I just accepted delivery of a sword dating from the 12th century. Around the time of the foundation of my Order. Since arriving here, I have begun to collect weapons more for fun than for use. Do you do anything similar?" He remembered she did have money, and if she wasn't training, she had free time.

She smiled at the suggestion, shrugging, "Maybe, but I don't know that I'd do that well without solid ground under me for more than an hour or two." She shrugged again, more solidly, "I'm a land-dweller, comes with being a Gypsy I think."

An out and out grin followed at the question, shaking her head, "I don't collect mine for fun, they're all for use."

"I have my weapons for use." The day Ezio gave up his Hidden Blades was the day they were taken from his cold body. "I am mostly interested in weapons from my Order throughout history. But I find some truly fine specimens along the way." Speaking of fine specimens. He looked over at her. "You really don't have to do a thing to look lovely, do you?" He chuckled. Perhaps it was his own biases coming through.

"I think you might be a little biased, but I'm not going to argue." She said, grinning once more, "Besides, that would be a silly thing to argue, wouldn't it?"

There was an impish little smile then, "And you haven't seen me with a full sword before have you?"

"I have not." Ezio turned them onto his street and into his building, over to the lift. "Perhaps we can remedy that." It was half the reason he wanted her to see this - she was a professional, and good with almost every weapon he could think of. Still, once they were in the lift, he stole a kiss, brief but resounding. One day he'd have to get some nerve.

Even that brief a kiss was enough to make her grin all over again, she kind of liked the half-bashful, sometimes. She held on to his arm, giving a little shrug, "I think we'd better, just so you know what you're getting into." She added, looking sly and amused all at once.

"Every time I think I have a good idea, you surprise me." He smirked at her - it was part of what he loved about her.

They got off the lift at his floor, and soon he was unlocking his door with the two keys, pushing it open to let her get a glimpse of the place. He'd had it done in dark woods and simple furniture, nothing too ornate. He did, however, have a large, heavy weapons cabinet propped against one wall. "After you."

She had already decided that she liked the place, the colors reminded her of the multitude of caravans she'd been in. She turned a slow circle once she was inside, nodding her approval, "It's nice. Spare and comfortable, it reminds me a bit of home, actually."

That made Ezio smile, and he had to work to not puff up with pride. "The place I called home for many years was in this style, and you know as well as anyone that too much furniture, she is a hindrance to proper practice." He winked, gesturing toward the chaise lounge, going over to the weapons cabinet himself.

She smiled as she perched herself on the chaise, nodding, "That's true, though most of the places I lived weren't good for practicing in, not enough room to swing a cat, let alone a blade." She shrugged, "Caravans, mostly, the ones with the circus were almost big enough to practice in. Almost."

Ezio nodded, but didn't say anything further. He was opening the weapons cabinet, eyes pointed downward as his new prize came into view.

He picked up the sword with two hands, holding it firmly but lightly; he was not wearing gloves, after all. "This is a saif, dated to the late 12th century," he said over his shoulder. "Similar in make to the weapons used by the forces of Saladin, but there is an important difference." It was the reason he'd had to have it.

He came over to stand in front of Ronia, bending at the waist and holding it down to her. "The maker's mark, upon the hilt." Ezio turned the blade gently so she could see the Arabic lettering. "This was made in Masyaf. In what is now Syria." His eyes shone as he gazed on it. "Masyaf was the fortified city of the first Assassins."

"Oh it's gorgeous." Was the almost awed response, she knew her way around blades of all sorts and could generally tell the good ones just by looking. There was another smile then, "The ones with history are best. Henn loaned me her katana the other day, I was almost afraid of it, to be honest, it was just that sharp and just that light, could almost feel it cutting the air itself."

Ezio smiled. "I have one of those, too, though it is much less heralded than the saif." He took the Arab blade back and brought out the Japanese sword he'd picked up a few months ago. "No history that I know of, but still a lovely blade. I'm sure Henriette has only the best."

She nodded, "She's a pair of them, from her boss, lovely weapons, though I think she's a little scared of them as well." She nodded towards the new blade in his hands, "May I?"

"Of course." He offered it to her, hilt up. "This one belonged to a twentieth-century Assassin, that I know, but beyond that I know nothing of its provenance. I just thought it handsome." Ezio smirked. "You do know I love beauty above all else."

She rose from the chaise before taking the sword, just getting used to the weight before extending her arm, sighting along the blade, "This one wasn't for every day use, ceremonial probably, but it's been kept well."

She stepped back, swinging it in a tight circle with just wrist movement, nodding as she turned with a half step, bringing it up to a ready position, "It's been kept damn well."
