Who: Gar Logan and Sophie Frost What: First date at the American Museum of Natural History When: Not too long after their last awkward conversation Warnings: Remarkably few.
The American Museum of Natural History had a great many attractions. It housed a life size model of a blue whale, the largest mammal on Earth. It had skeletal reconstructions of dinosaurs and other once-living creatures that gave Gar all kinds of inspiration for shapeshifting. It celebrated cultures the world round, both extant and extinct.
For Gar, though, the main attraction was that he'd never taken Rose there. All of Gar's typical first dates had been spent on Rose at some point; they'd managed to avoid the Natural History Museum, though. This wasn't to say that Gar wouldn't eventually take Sophie to the Bronx Zoo or Broadway or anything, it was just that he felt that she deserved her own date.
"All right, I know that dinosaurs are completely awesome, but I am going to pay attention to you. 'Cause you're pretty. And I expect the same in return. 'Cause I'm pretty. Okay?" Gar gave Sophie a cocky smile, one that, he hoped, obscured the tinge of nervousness that would color everything he did for the rest of the day.
