Who: DD and Remy
When: Evening times!
Where:  Her place, then off to restaurant
What: A little dinner, a little wine...

Remy stepped out from the portkey with the ease of much practice, bouncy from the chance to play hooky from work and share a meal with a beautiful woman. Make that doubly bouncy. The weather had been mercifully mild enough to leave his coat at the office and just wander in nice slacks and a rolled up button down under his blazer. Made him look less stuffy and proper.

A flower booth had just put out gardenia sprigs on his way to the apartment, and on impulse he had picked up a flower for DD. Her address was easy to find and it took little time for him to find her door and knock, on time as requested. He grinned and bounced on his toes in anticipation, all but whistling at the prospects for the night.

DD was not sure what she had gotten herself into. Dogs didn't tend to worry much about wine and dinning, but she was looking forward to it. She didn't know how fancy to dress, but he had said wine and dinner, so she had gone with a little fancier, a nice slinky dark blue dress. she put her hair up, very simple in a bun. She didn't have jewelry. She really wasn't even sure why she had the dress, but she wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.

She heard the knock and waited a few seconds before opening the door. she didn't want to make him think she was waiting by the door for him.

When the door opened, he turned to face the door and his smile slowly grew. She was quite stunning in the flattering dress and simple elegance. There was a reserved edge to her expression, nearly a 'try anything funny and I'll take a chunk out of you' that egged him to try something.

"Belle femme," he bowed and offered her the flower. "Your alluring beauty has put any dish offered to shame."

DD grinned. She wasn't sure anyone had ever given her a flower before. She took the flower. "Thank you. You look dashing yourself. All I need to do is grab my purse and I'm ready to go. I hope I'm not over dressed." She might be babbling a little, but she sounded secure, not nervous.

"Merci," he smoothed his shirt down at the compliment and waited casually for her to pick up her purse. She didn't seem the type to make a long search for dramatic purposes and he laughed softly at her fussing. "If you are, it'll only make de others more jealous of my luck."

"What type of food do you like?" He cocked his head and shrugged. "Somet'ing Asian, chinese or sushi? Spicy, like Mexican or Cajun? Elegant, Italian or French?" He smiled. "This won't be fun if it isn't somet'ing you like."

DD laughed a little. "I'm not that picky. I suppose I wouldn't mind going out for Italian, or maybe a good steak." She had always been, and would always be a red meat kind of girl. Suppose that was part of being a dog for so long.

She found her purse quickly and got her keys out to lock the door behind them.

Mmm. Steak. "Steakhouse it is. I've never really been dat crazy about tofu, ya know?"

He politely stepped out of the way, far enough to not be hovering. He figured now, while she was focused on the task, would be fine to 'check her out,' or admire her form. The curve of her back, her features, he stored it away and smiled gently.

"Bon temps," he grinned and offered his elbow. "Shall we, Cheri?"

She smiled at his agreement. "Sounds like a plan." She walked out the door and turned to lock it. She knew he was watching her, and had to hold back a laugh.

She took the offered arm, walking close to him to follow him to his car.

He was used to just picking up something on the street when he had needed one before. Actually owning a car was a new thing to Remy, and it being something 'lawyerish' in style and make, sleek and silver, amused him everyday he had to drive it. He opened the passenger door for her with a smirk. "After you, mademoiselle."

"Et, yes, dis is a weak attempt to seem impressive," he wiggled his eyebrows at her. "Is it working?"

DD did laugh at that. "It is a very nice car." She got in and let him close the door for her. She didn't mind being treated like a lady every once in a while.

She waited for him to get in the driver's seat before asking, "So, Mr. LeBeau, what sort of career pays for such a nice car?"

He shook his head, laughing. "Oh please, Remy. Mr. LeBeau sounds way too proper."

"De worst kind," he grinned and started to drive. "I landed here wit' all de papers to be a lawyer. Mes amis can't decide which is worse, me as a lawyer or de fact I'm good at it."

"What about you, Cherie? How do you spend your time?" He smirked crookedly and added "Besides chaperoning de 'young, stupid lust,' I mean."

"I'm an agent for a musician."

He sighed woefully and shook his head. "I know, I know," he grinned and winked. "But I manage."

"Are dey any good?" They got to the restaurant easily and he opened the door for her.

"She's pretty amazing. Here," she messed with the radio for a bit and smiled. "There we go. This is her." She grinned. Kimber was pretty big, and she knew it would be a good bet to find her on the radio.

Remy paused, listening to Kimber's piece on the radio. "I think I caught the secretary dancin' to dis song some time ago. Ain't my usual style, but is rather catchy, Cherie."

He grinned. "You've done bon then, agenting talent like dat!"

"Bon temps." They reached the steakhouse and he hopped out of the car with a smile, opening her door.

"Shall we? I've got an urge t' make de other men dead-jealous wit' my choice of dining partners." He waggled his eyebrows and offered his hand.

DD took his hand, stepping out and letting the slit in the side of her skirt show a bit of leg. "I think I'm up to the challenge."

She walked up with him, draping her arm over his. She let him do the talking with the hostess, keeping her arm around his as they were guided to the table.

He grinned crookedly and winked. "Now dat's what I like to hear."

Remy was in full form tonight as they were escorted to their table, a lazy grace in his stride with DD that caught other's attention and a proud smirk to make them wonder who they were.

The table was in the corner (who's an old paranoid thief?) for privacy and atmosphere. Remy beat the hostess to pulling out DD's chair. "Mademoiselle?"

DD sat down, almost sliding into the seat. She waited for Remy to sit down.

"Have you ever been here before?" She was looking at the menu which didn't have the cents listed after the prices, which were all rather large numbers.

"Mm, a few times, Cherie," Remy eyed the menu, seeing what was new or sounded interesting. "Enough to know dat if steak is what you want, dis is where you go."

He smirked softly and leaned over, conspiratorially whispering. "It sounds like a heresy, but even their burgers are insanely bon."

"Well, it's a good enough recommendation for me. I don't get out much."

She looked around at the other patrons and was glad to see she wasn't horribly over dressed. She watched as the server came up to take their drink order. She looked at Remy, waiting for him to place an order on the wine.

"'Zat true?" Remy tisked and shook his head. "There's a pity. Might have to fix dat."

"If I may be so bold," he nodded to her before smiling at the waiter and beginning to banter and pick a good wine to go with beef. Somewhere in the talk, an appetizer or two might have been ordered.

She smiled. "We might."

She listened as he spoke to the waiter. Wine wasn't something she had learned much about yet in this new world.

She waited for the server to leave. "So, Remy, what did you do before you were a lawyer? Before you came here?"

"I, heh, was an adventurer, among other thing," he drawled and played with the stem of his glass. No one could implicate him here, technically. "Dealt with acquisitions et non-voluntary transfers of goods."

He waggled his eyebrows and grinned roguishly at DD. He had been a thief, and a damn good one. "Were you an agent elsewhere as well?"

"Ah, so herdin' another is not so strange for you, after being an adviser." He shook his head. "Though I think de term 'sidekick' is not entirely flattering for de likes of yourself."

The wine was poured and he toasted her with a crooked smile. "To fightin' de good fight, Cherie?"

She smiled, "Not so strange at all. And the term might not be flattering, but it fits pretty well."

She held up her glass, clicking her glass lightly against his. "To fighting the good fight," she repeated, taking a slightly longer sip from her wine than was strictly necessary.

Remy sipped as well and then smiled when the appetizers were set out in front of them, all smelling good. "Et being lavishly rewarded for doing so."

"Mm, now was your evil de kind with a thin mustache et over-elaborate plans for killing others, de sorcerer in cahoots with demons or simply rich evil types dat like squishing de little guy?"

"Yes, the really nasty type, but at least there's no sign of them here." She sipped on her wine, looking around a bit. There really were quite a few people sneaking looks at them. She felt a little awkward, out of place.

"Amen to dat, though wait a month or so et mebbe we'll see some action." He rolled his eyes a bit at that, remembering the last few hiccups. "We've had zombies et not-so-nice people running about before."

Remy, with his eyes, was used to being gawked at and hadn't paid much attention back. No one was trying to attack them, why care? But he saw her expression and took her hand lightly, kissing her knuckle. "They're jealous, Cherie, or too bored waiting for their food t'be polite." He caught some eyes and blandly stared back, making the others look away in embarrassment.

"Oh, don't even say that. I could do a lifetime without that kind of action. Zombies are what I dealt with on a regular basis."

"Dey smell something terrible, don't dey?" He shook his head. "For me, it was homicidal robots or people with powers tryin' to wipe out other people wit' powers."

"The undead were bad enough, then you had to deal with the necromancers who controlled them. They were always half rotted themselves." She looked as if she could almost smell them then shook her head to get rid of the memory. "It's always people trying to wipe out other people, isn't it?"

She blushed a little. "Well, blending in can help sometimes. I'm not," she paused. She didn't really need to share everything with Remy. It was nice to be able to talk with someone a bit more frankly, but that didn't mean she should share everything with him. "I wasn't always human. Before I came here I was a dog. The Disreputable Dog."
