Who: Eddie Riggs and Charlene Foster Offdensen.
What: Hanging out.
When: Saturday night.
Where: Mordhaus.
Warnings: Swearing.

Eddie had finished designing another stage, and was halfway through building it. It was a smaller prototype, nothing too huge, just one that filled up one of the larger living rooms' empty space toward the back, but if the band liked it, he'd build it full scale. Since it was done, he was having a celebratory brew, idly strumming Clementine and not bothering to notice the lightning bolts creeping up the sides of his chair.

Charlene had been on her way down to check on the construction, mildly surprised to find it so far along already, surprised, but happily so. The first thing she noticed was the guitar-playing, mostly because it wasn't Gaala's usual frenetic style, the second thing she noticed was the lightning bolts, "Ah, has Torii-Sou been through here?" Lately whenever anything out of the ordinary was going on with the light it was generally Torii's fault.

Eddie blinked. He stopped playing, standing up immediately. He knew she was the big boss from Teja's tutelage, and he shook his head. "No siree, bosslady, just me."

"Huh. Maybe she did it earlier." she shook her head then, waving a magnanimous hand, "Relax, I'm not here to interfere with your downtime, was just coming to check on the construction, going more quickly than I was expecting."

"It's easier when the guys with hoods leave me alone." He smiled and sat back down, shrugging. He took another swig of his beer, sighing contentedly. "They're good for stuff, but not so much fine construction."

"I can, ah, make sure that they leave you alone unless you tell them otherwise, if you like." After all, if his job was easier, that made her job easier in turn, one less thing to worry about, "They do tend to be rather accident prone. It's something we're looking into."

"Oh, I tell them to. They listen to me pretty well. You've got that sort of 'listen to any dude or dudette that doesn't have a hood' thing." He smiled and offered her a beer. He had one with the cap on.

"Ah, well then it seems Teja may have already given then an order to that effect. Good."

She tilted her head, debating the offered beer before checking her watch and then shrugging, settling herself in a chair as well and accepting it, popping the cap herself with the one lone ring she wore, "Thank you."

Eddie's eyebrows went up, and he smirked. He appreciated a lady who knew that trick. "Hey, your company bought 'em, technically." He shrugged. "Nothing says you shouldn't enjoy it."

Some people claimed that she'd invented that trick, she wasn't one of them, because she knew it had been around for at least as long as they'd been putting caps on bottles.

There was a faint, fleeting smile at the statement, "That's a very good point." She shook her head then, "I'm sorry that we haven't had a formal meeting sooner."

"It's fine. My name's Eddie, but you know that. What do you like being called?" He idly strummed his guitar, a different tune. If she looked closely, the strings were ablaze.

"Anything but Chuck." She shrugged one shoulder, apparently the fire wasn't as immediately puzzling as the lightning had been. There had, after all, been more than one occasion where Gaala had caught her hair or her fingers on fire with sheer speed.

"Mostly what I hear these days is 'bosslady', and that works just fine. Though Henriette, one of the law team, calls me Ms. Foster-O, and I'm not entirely sure what to make of that."

"That sounds like a breakfast cereal. If you were a food, you'd be that sort of really expensive sushi that can kill you." He smiled and shook his head. "Bosslady it is."

She snickered at the first, shaking her head, "I always thought it sounded like a mixed drink. Either way though, not really all that terror-inducing." A one-shouldered shrug "Not that I do any of that on purpose, at least not unless it's immediately important."

"Yep, you're the poisonfish. Which is pretty brutal, when you think about it. People going around, thinking they're all safe, then BAM! Dead from the deliciousness." He grinned at her, shaking his head.

There was another small smile at that, and a better-suppressed chuckle. She'd already decided that she liked this guy, and she could see why Teja had appointed him, "That's an interesting way of putting it, but I believe it works."

He'd been appointed more for his abilities than his sense of humor, but he was okay with both, really. "I have to tell you, it's really great to be working for a band that actually plays metal." His last job for Kabbage Boy had been the worst thing ever; it had actually made him question his faith in humanity.

She tilted her head once more, brow arching, "Oh? I'm guessing that whoever you were working for previously was something less than stellar?"

She shook her head, "don't think we had them where I'm from. Not a surprise though, there's a lot of music here that wasn't there, and vise versa."

It really wasn't a surprise to her, most things were different here, but she just rolled with it, that was the way she'd always been. Keep calm and carry on.

"Hm, me too." She said, nodding, "Don't get them, haven't had one since ..." She scratched the back of her neck, "Second year of school? Well, no, that's a lie, I had one my first day here, but that was due to acclimation."
