Tej shook his head. He had seen the discussion between Sor and Cassie from earlier and that made him feel even more upset.
"I haven't changed my mind, you know. What I said a couple nights ago is still true - if you think it's supposed to be the way it is with you and Cassie, then I'm not going to overstep that." He set the book aside and curled his arms around his legs, not looking Sor in the eyes.
"You are a friend. I'm not going to lose the only friend I really have because of any feelings. I never wanted you to choose between having me as a friend... I just wanted you to make up your mind. You can't have both us like that."
