The shadowy figure moved confidently, yet cautiously along the darkened streets, taking in his surroundings. His enhanced senses captured every smell, every sight, every sound they encountered. Any humans who strayed too near him quickly moved past, intimidated somehow, even though he was new here. Even the undead had enough sense to fear him, which he hoped meant he could get them organized and loyal to him all the faster.
He was used to being alpha, lord, leader of the pack...and now if he couldn't escape this place, he'd have to do it all over again. He had landed here in a vortex, but was still unsure as to the mechanics or the purpose of it. He fully intended to attempt escape, but it was obvious that for now, at least, he wasn't going anywhere. No matter, he knew that he could organize them quickly enough, or dispatch any who challenged him. He did have a certain arrogance about him; perhaps the addition of a demon to his being had made him a bit power hungry. But he was too intelligent to be foolish, like the lower class rabble that comprised too many vampires these days.
Though he felt at home already, given how much time he'd spent in London as a young man, it made a lot of things harder. He couldn't feed as easily as in a small town like Sunnydale. And there were more cops to get in the way if a vampire got careless with a body. Stalking would take patience, and kills would have to be disposed of properly and quickly. For now, he would have to take things slowly and carefully, examining his surroundings and using his brain rather than relying on his powers. He paused, hearing the sound of footsteps...
