As she made her way to meet Cass, the stranger who had been kind enough to offer an explanation when she had found herself struggling to understand the situation she found herself in, Sara wasn't sure she was much further than she had been to start with. Okay, so she now had an explanation of why she'd found herself suddenly in London and unable to contact anyone she knew. It was just that, well, the explanation rather flew against everything she thought she knew about the world and what was possible. And while all signs pointed to her not being in the world she knew, it was still difficult for her to comprehend that the impossible had now become not only possible, but proven fact.
Still, if anyone knew how to put on a brave face it was Sara. Of course, it helped that she had somewhere to be and someone to meet, so that she wasn't simply sitting and dwelling on this strange turn of events. Ordinarily she wasn't one to make lunch plans with someone she just met, but given as she was unable to contact anyone she actually knew, even the part of her that was in denial that this was even happening could appreciate that she was going to have to start over. After all, she could hope all she wanted that the vortex would pick up someone she knew but that wasn't going to get her very far in the meantime.
As she approached the hibachi restaurant she was due to meet Cass at, Sara scanned the people nearby to see if she could spot him and forced the tiny voice in the back of her mind that suggested this could be a set-up to silence itself. All things considered, now was not the time to let paranoia get in the way of finding her feet in this strange new world.
