Kurt decided to go back to not even looking at Puck then. He reached over to pluck his nail file off of his bedside table and went to fixing his nails once more. It would be horrible, after all, if there was a jagged nail that caught on one of his favorite shirts.
"No," he said simply, and without even a shrug. "It's nothing more than a sympathy present, and you just said you don't need those." So what if there was a slight smugness in Kurt's tone? That was nearly always there, especially when he was speaking with the mohawked buffoon.
And then a thought hit Kurt, one that he found amusing enough to voice. "Isn't it funny how I was the one that ended up giving you the gift you seemed to enjoy the most? And without even putting much thought into it." Which was mostly true. Once Kurt decided that he was going to get Puck some cologne, he did spend more time than he would admit to anyone at the cologne counter trying to pick out the right one.
