Miniver barely has time to smooth Cass's hair back before the paramedics arrive. He can't pay attention to Soren, he's too busy tending to Cass as Sable told him to. The paramedics bark questions and commands to him and he answers just as tersely, after returning the phone to whomever he borrowed it from. He tries to hush Cass when he yells or even speaks, tries to keep his handkerchief pressed to his face to help the bleeding, tries to keep his hand in Cass's to help him, if he even feels anything at all, and tries to still him if he tries to move. He explains quickly to the attending medics that he is Cass's uncle and, with a brief glance to Soren, that the blonde boy is his husband. He's glad that they professionally show no reaction to Cass having a male spouse, and he's glad that they decide to allow both he and Soren to ride in the ambulance with Cass.
Miniver has learned a little from his daughter in the time they've had together, little though it may be, and in the time he's spent on the road with junkies and alcoholics and rockstars... He knows enough to follow directions given to him by the paramedics, to help them get Cass onto a stretcher, to help tend to the bleeding while they administer other treatments. He finally gives Soren a brief greeting -- no more than a meeting of eyes and a brief touch, in a few moments when the ambient chaos dies down and the ambulance speeds forward.
