Mephistopheles didn't lie. He'd found a part of the world devoid of humanity, and had created, (appropriately, given his proclivity for torturing and killing humans,) a building of ground bones and cement, and light insect netting to keep out the sand. Inside, there was a fairly posh little parlor with cushions and leather seats, and a table with a modest spread of chocolate truffles on a plate, and a bottle of white wine. He rarely ate mortal food - didn't need to - but he liked to indulge as much as the next iteration of ultimate evil. In the back of the building, there was a covered pool, and Mephisto, even as blind as he was, had a few candles lighting the incredibly dark rooms, so his sighted, female counterpart could see where she was going.

He wasn't planning on being romantic by any stretch of the imagination, but he was planning on showing Satan some amount of companionship. Empathy. And showing her that she WAS queen bitch, so thank you.

Once again, Satan didn't quite know why she was going here, or trying to talk to anyone. She'd let that Ossa person take her out to dinner. And the girl had been trying to get in her pants, but she wasn't even quite sure she wanted that. Most of her just wanted to be alone. And she didn't know why then she was back on this mortal realm. Oh right, because of God. Great. In any case, she had found Meph's coordinates pretty well, and wandered down until she found it.

"I'm here.." she told him as she got closer, though she figured he knew that already. But still. She wandered over beside him and looked around. "This is a nice place you have here."

He'd heard her coming down the sand dune nearby, but his ears were keen beyond description, to make up for the lack of sight. He couldn't feel the way most demons could, he didn't have the sense of presence, or the ability to read minds. He turned to her voice when she spoke and nodded. "Have a seat. Try to relax. This place is here for your needs as well." He navigated to a chair, a small smile coming to his face. "My home is your home."

She took a step near him and then finally sat down next to him, "Thanks.." she wasn't quite sure what to say to be honest, though she supposed that being down here, it wasn't like they had to talk. It wasn't like she was trying to ignore it all, she just didn't know where to start. She glanced around, "I see you went all out with the food and .. stuff." Getting wasted seemed like something fun to do maybe.

	"Wine and chocolate is not going all out. I could set up a buffet, though. Or a bar. But I don't eat," He said as he picked up a truffle and popped it in his mouth. "No, don't do that. This is fine.." she glanced over at the truffles and then reached for the wine and poured herself a pretty large glass. "I don't eat much either unless it suits my needs.. though some mortal food is pretty good I suppose." She shrugged a little as she drank a bunch from her glass. "Having everyone think they can just leave and get away with it, or wanting to get away from me as much as possible. I'm not a good enough.. whatever I am. No one even wants to follow me anymore."

"Nobody? That's a fairly large generalization," Mephisto let her drink at her leisure, it wasn't as if she didn't deserve it. "They're mortals, they are stupid and fickle. They do not understand, they cannot comprehend us. They try, and fail to understand that they are not the only beings with emotion. We were created first, we were given more feelings than they could possibly see. And when they treat us as they consider they should, of course, they're complete assholes about it. That poet," He hissed, obviously seething over the way that mortal idiot spoke to Satan, "should be punished for speaking to you in the way that he did. His groveling only makes me more contemptuous. And the musician," He shook his head. "Is a moron. A fickle moron. I think there's nothing you can do about them other than enjoy punishing them little by little." He crossed his ankle over his opposite knee and folded his hands before him.

"However, that, I doubt, will make you feel completely better. It wouldn't sate my emptiness in this case."

"It's the truth.. they all decided to go with that idiot that worked under me.." God she hated those two. Him and his angel. She should have smote them already, or something like that. "No they really don't comprehend us at all, but not even just the mortals, it's other angels and other demons and the ranks of all those people I had, they just all followed someone else." They chose someone else to lead them over her, and she didn't like it. "Once I feel better, I'm sure I'll want to make him pay.." Though she just didn't know when that was going to be. Maybe she just needed to jump back into the torture. Who knew.

"No.. you're right, I think that's probably why I don't do it.. because I know it won't help me feel any better."

"The one who replaced the demon of lust, supposedly. He's a lesser evil, and you know idioms I'm sure. Fuck him. He doesn't even do his job." He waved his hand with a shake of his head. "Killing is too good for him, torture would be a pleasantry. Disarm him, tear away all that he," and here he sneered, "loves."

"What do you suppose would?" Satan was another iteration of himself, but she was dramatically different, in many, many ways. "Certainly, not competition. That sort of thing pisses anyone off. Alliance, perhaps. You know I'm not here to take from you. That would be... impossible, I think. But I'm here, for whatever reason, and I suppose it's to help." He paused and faced down for a moment. It was a question that plagued him, why he was here, when she already existed on this plane. But he wasn't going to let her bury herself in sorrow, he knew that much.

"For whatever span of time there is, what is one being you can count on to be there with you at all times?" He raised a brow and faced back up at her. "Yourself."

"Torture would just.. make him happy. I suppose I could do that.. but then.." she just shook her head. "They'd just .. I don't know, I don't even know why I should bother. Getting people back is one thing, but I'm not sure it's going to make me feel better this time." That was the thing. Usually this sort of thing always made her feel better, but she just didn't think so this time.

She hm'd a bit, "No, I know you're not here to take from me. I just don't know what would make me feel better, other than just getting rid of them all or making them all disappear from this world, but no one has that power." And that sucked. The fact that she couldn't just go back sucked.

"Oh I know I always have myself. I don't have anyone else."

"You have yourself. And... well, I suppose I still count as that. Tough luck, sugar lips." His smile was tight lipped as he poured himself a glass of wine as well, making sure the bottle itself stayed full.

"Here's where it gets tricky, Satan. Would you want the ones that the little worm took from you? Wouldn't you rather punish them for betraying you? If, indeed, they were yours to begin with. If they weren't, well, it's always fun to win them over with tempting smiles, graceful, almost uncanny sweetness. And then turn on them," His voice plummeted to a tone which generally evoked the depth of their home's more unpleasant parts.

"Mingle, schmooze, suck them for all they've got. If that won't make you snap out of it..." He shrugged, "There's always a foot rub. I'm oddly good at those. It's from all the millions of years I spent kissing up to God for nothing."

She gave a snort of amusement when he called her sugar lips. "Guess I'll just have to stick it out."

Thinking about that for a moment, she shrugged her shoulders. "No I certainly don't want them back. I'd like to punish them, but I don't think it'd be enough. I just don't want to look at them, much less punish them. They're beneath me."

It sounded tempting enough, but she just didn't know if she was up for it. Maybe she'd have to just take it one thing at a time. "A foot rub?" she had to laugh, "Oh yes I can imagine you rubbing God's feet."
