She smiled and sneaked it away from him. "I don't need time to be me. I gave that up three days ago, along with everything else. I just want to be useful now. Is it okay if I get this dirty? I'll wash it right back up." She held the tool up to see how thin it was and then nodded, before poking it into the middle of the banana, just at the center of its curve, and with a neat sort of precision, she wiggled it from one side, to the other, only puncturing it in one spot. Then she pulled out the tool, and repeated the motions in ten different spots, in a line down the banana.
She set the tool aside and then slowly started to peel the fruit and then giggled, shaking her head. "No, I think you should." she handed the banana to Zev. "Peel it, but be careful." She'd sliced the fruit inside the peel without having to peel it. It was a lot less messy, that way.
