He'd stopped by a chippy after he finished talking to Rose, getting two orders of fish and chips for the trip. Then he'd gone back to the TARDIS to wait for her. He was excited, but nervous at the same time. It felt rather like taking your girl home to meet your parents must feel, he realised. He was taking Rose to Gallifrey. To his home. That was a good reason to be nervous. And he'd never quite lost the fear that something would happen and he would lose her again. Like he had at Canary Wharf. That was why he'd put this off before. But he couldn't keep doing that. He needed to trust that he could keep Rose safe.
He heard the door of the TARDIS open and grinned. "Ready to go on a little trip?" he asked, turning away from the console.
