Alistair leads the way, talking amiably about the time he's spent in this world. It starts off with him talking about how he got his job as a bouncer at a bar ("They're nothing like the ones in Ferelden," he tells her) one night when he stopped a scuffle outside.
"Hired me right there on the spot," he tells her. "He helped me get a flat, too. Not a lot there, though. Right now, anyway."
It isn't long before they reach the portkey, a small, stone turtle hidden in the grass of a very large tree ("Reminds me of the Grand Oak Tree," he says, "Minus the bad poetry, anyway.")
He bends down before it, then looks up at her.
"Have you ever used one of these before?" he asks.
