This was her dad's version of deep thought. Quiet introspection led to dinosaurs, apes and bananas. "Hopefully we don't look like bananas," she said, still trying to keep the conversation light-hearted. It was pretty difficult. "I don't really know much about DNA though, so I don't know." Callie gave a shrug, then looked back at her hands.
Finally the doctor came out. "Caroline? Noah?"
Callie stood quickly, grabbing her purse. They were led to a small exam room with a couple of chairs. Callie felt a little light-headed all of a sudden, and sat down in one of the chairs. She glanced over at her dad, wondering what he would do when he had the proof in front of him. She wanted him to magically turn into the father she knew, but she knew that was a bit of a stretch. She'd be happy if he just let her call him 'Dad', and be able to hug her without trying to grab her ass.
