Jane had hurried around getting Danny ready to head to the portkey and to make sure they had everything they needed. Charles had remained quiet after reading what Sonya had told them, taking care of their arrangements where they would stay in Germany. Danny knew something was up and he had grown fussy. Jane couldn't help the smile that had formed when Charles picked him up to calm him because she was too busy to take care of it herself.
"Ready?" Charles questioned as she took the baby from him to bundle him up. She nodded, glancing at her husband.
"Ready," she said, cursing how her voice wavered.
Charles pressed a kiss to her forehead before resting his against her. "She's alive, that's what matters. And like you said, if anyone dares to try and take her son, we'll be there to help."
"Charles... I want her to stay with us for awhile when she's released," Jane said. "Just till she is adjusted so she's not dealing with things alone with Danny."
"We can discuss that later," Charles said. "Right now, let's get to Germany so she can see us and her son."
Jane agreed and let her husband lead her to the nearest portkey, their luggage in hand. Danny in a stroller. She hated the idea of using the portkey with the baby, but it was the fastest way to get to Germany. Once there, she started calming Danny immediately from the rough ride.
Once they got to the hospital, they were quickly escorted to Sonya's room where the nurse told her she had visitors. Stepping inside, Jane tried her best to not gasp at the sight of Sonya in the bed, bandaged.
Danny, however, saw his mother and got excited. The bandages and the bed didn't matter to the little boy. All he saw was his mother. She walked over with him and set him into Sonya's arms.
