Toki wrapped his arms around Miniver and murmured to him lightly in Norwegian, "we'll leave soon," before he looked over at Teja and smiled. "Just knows I can'ts be more proud'a you, hokay? An' you too, Soren. You takes de first step an' keeps Teja safe. I thinks maybe I has to gets Miniver back homes. He needs a little sleeps." He was a little put off by being called grandpa, but it was meant in kindness, so he wouldn't complain.
Teja blinked a few times and looked down. "Don't be sorry, Miniver." He rubbed the outside of his mug and sighed. "Thank you... papa. I should sleep. I haven't slept. I'll be... I'll be fine." He sighed and looked completely sheepish. Mentally, he knew he was only playing to the fact that he was physically young. He was beyond this, right? But here he was, suddenly faced with the realization that his father was a father, and Miniver had learned a lesson a little too roughly, and that Soren truly, truly cared for him in a way he never thought was possible. He'd heard that his younger sister kept vigil the entire time, while his eldest sister stood as the stone that kept the entire family together. He'd have to thank them as soon as possible.
He decided not to talk to Miniver any further, destroying what little sanity he had left just to make himself clear wasn't going to happen, but he set his cup carefully aside before wrapping his arms around Toki. "Thanks," he whispered. "I'll make it up to you when I'm a bit bigger. To all of you."
