Toki wrapped his arm back around Miniver's shoulders and kissed the top of his head. It was obvious that Miniver was two seconds away from bolting. He had to be strong for his best friend. "It's okay, Miniver, it's goings to be jus' fine, okay?" He then knelt down beside Teja and looked him in the eye. It wasn't to be patronizing, but more... understanding. He had recently been through the very same thing. It just was longer for him to wait to be reborn. "Teja, don't yells at him," He scolded, in a voice of a father of three daughters. "Soren means well. I thinks you has something to says to Miniver, huh?"
Teja had never been looked at in the way Toki looked at him before, except for by Charles, and even those looks were few and far between but loved and cherished in a way he couldn't put to words. When Toki did, though... It was heartwrenchingly honest and heartbreaking as well. For a moment, Teja's expression matched his age, and he slightly hid in the blanket that Soren had given him. His face blanched a bit and he looked over Toki's shoulder at Miniver and with a moment of composure, he curled his right hand into a fist and looked down as well.
