"Cool. Do you want to just walk? I'm not strong enough to carry you." That may have come out wrong. She didn't mean to sound like she was calling Candy fat. "Iggy told me he carried you once, but he's freakishly strong. Even for us." She smiled, and there was warmth there. 'Freak' wasn't a bad thing, in her books. "I can only carry about forty pounds." She hefted the backpack on her shoulder, estimating it was pretty close to what she could comfortably carry. "Besides, it's not that far."
"So is cheerleading fun?" she asked. "I don't really know anything about it except what I see on TV." Television is where she'd learned most things about life.
