The thought of demons having parties made her snort in derision.
And his annoyance made her smile. "Nothing masters you? Must be nice." She seemed to be a little less incredulous about this whole affair now the more she was finding out. And when he relaxed, she eased up her defensive posture.
"One last thing before I give up." She pushed once more at the Wall, this time with her sword. It started to slide in, disappearing just an inch through until it wouldn't give any more, and she made a noise of victory. She made an attempt to wiggle it, make the hole wider, and it got stuck. "Oh balls." She braced her boot on, well, nothing, keeping one wary eye on the demon, and a string of alien curse words later, she yanked it back out, causing her to stagger a couple steps backward. An experimental poke at the hole, and it had sealed up. "Useless."
She frowned, looked at the Wall, looked back at him. A shrug, and she sheathed her sword in one quick motion, now easily accepting that there wasn't anything she could do about anything, and that this situation probably wouldn't improve as long as she had her weapons out. "Okay, now what?"
