"I'm sorry," she said, her cheeks a nice shade of scarlet. "I'm so sorry. I." She wasn't sure what she'd been thinking, except maybe that they seemed to be, literally, made for each other. But the more he said, the stupider she felt. He was right. Obviously. It was way too soon. "I'm just not used to people.. I'm not used to.. having time. I'm.. I'm so sorry!"
There were tears on her cheeks, which made her feel even stupider. "I should go," she said, getting up and unfolding her wings.
